I finally caught back up again after being a bit MIA this weekend!

Citricos looks awesome! It is on my short list of places to try.

FYI I did PM you the recipe for the pumpkin cheesecake. Let me know if you received it okay. :)

I'm a little behind, but getting caught up :) When we were at Citricos all of our meat was slightly overdone. Still delicious, but it might be worth ordering it one notch below what you really want!

Oooh loving all those Christmas treats and the Christmas tea sounds yummy :)

Looking forward to reading about The Wave if you go :)

The entire Germany village smelled like Gingerbread!

I don't think we'll ever eat at SAI again but I agree that soup is fantastic! I have started making "my" take on it at home and it is so yummy pouring the soup over the fixins!

Looking forward to the Wave!

Ooh you have got to email me that recipe!

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon - reading about your fabulous trip. I wonder if those huge gummy bears are available all the time. My dd11 and I LOVE those. Have to have them everytime we go to the movies. Thanks as always for the wonderful reviews.

Why thank yo uso much! We were just here in early Oct and they didnt have them, I wonder if they were just for Xmas?

What, no Tonga Toast?????? Shame shame, hahahahaha!! JK. Breakfast looked very good!

I cannot wait to go during Christmas time!!!

Oh we made up for that this morning!

I am so excited that they have added the Cosmos to the Grey Goose stand!!! That's the best news I have heard all day!

I hope they keep it all the time!

Your review of San Angel Inn looked great! That's one of our favorites for lunch even though it seems to have a horrible reputation on the DIS. I cancelled our ressie for December in lieu of snacking around the World, but maybe I should re-think that, especially now that I see the churro dessert, since their desserts are usually the part we found lacking. Hrmmmmmmmm.

I dont understand why it gets such a bad rap, we ate there twice and it was excellent both times!

Great job as always! Can't wait to see what Poly CL has tonight, I hope it's not chaotic and messy again :)

Thank you so much! The lounge was insane, a total pig sty and the people were like herds of cattle...I will never come back during a holiday week again! More on that coming up!

These reviews, more than any other, are making me question my entire ADR schedule! Seriously, wonderful reviews.

Oh no! I dont want to mess up your schedule but wherever you eat and whatever you eat I hope it is wonderful!

What can I say, we're sick! Sorry to hi-jack Nick's thread.

Nicki doesn't mind...we do it all the time. :rotfl2:

Yeah what she said! I am guilty of hi-jacking many a thread! Chat away, I love it!

OMG - that soup! (I'm hoping for a soup trifecta this trip - you are 2/3 there!)

Nicki - I tried to PM you - is your mailbox full or are you not accepting PM's?

Anywho - as always, AWESOME reviews!

Jaime

We did hit a trifecta but more on that coming up! I am receiving PM's from other Disers..dont know why I did not receive yours...try again or you can always email me

I have been following your report, and I so APPRECIATE the time that you are taking to do this! It is such wonderful information! I have a ressie for Poly CL next Nov, and your report of the lounge this morning (and yesterday morning) really concern me. I can't believe that they are using the same food for so long! It seems that CL could put out fresh breakfast food. Also, I'm drooling over the soup you had at San Angel. It looked so yummy! I also know what I am sending my MIL for Christmas! She will absolutely love the tea! I will say that I am glad that the kids are in bed right now. Yesterday, they were still up when I was catching up on Friday/Saturday. They were leaning over my shoulder trying to lick the computer screen! They are making their shopping lists for next week. Thank you again for your report!

I appreciate you reading along...makes it all worthwild! I hope you enjoy the Poly CL as much as we have but I will tell you the Thanksgiving Holiday people are making a complete mess of the lounge, they are pigging out and leaving nothing behind, the CM's cannot keep up with the demand, running out of everything including drinks...they dont have the time to clean up after the other guests and there are so many large families here that are not staying CL but they are coming into the lounge because part of their family is staying in the CL...that is really ticking me off because the Poly is doing nothing to stop it! On two occasions we have seen CL guests letting non CL guests in! I will do my best not to stay at WDW during the holidays..it is nuts!

Mmmmm Gotta check out SAI lunch menu now !!!

It is much better than dinner!

Thanks so much for you wonderful reviews and photos. I wouldn't have considered Mexico for lunch before seeing this
Looks really yummy - and wow that drink looks good :cool1:

Thank you for reading! The drink was incredible!

serious soup heaven, both citricos and san angel look good. Now in the midst of a dilemma....only have room for Flying Fish OR Citricos, which one to choose? Decisions, decisions:dance3:

Oh def Flying Fish! As awesome as Citricos was Flying Fish is both of our favorite!

Citricos was our favorite in September:lovestruc. DH had the filet also and it was awesome! Now I wish we had of tried the soup. We've never been to FF, but will hopefully try it on our next trip.

I would never think to get soup from a signature because there are so many other yummy dishes to enjoy but DH knows what he likes and he wins every time!

Thank you for the great SAI review. It sounds, and looks, like it has improved greatly since I last tried it MANY years ago. May have to plug it into the rotation for next trip.

Oh you should def try it! We loved it!

I found this here on the Dis. I tweak it a bit when I make it but here is the recipe as written -

SOPA AZTECA (From San Angel Inn)

3 Tbsp. Olive oil, divided
1/3 c. Onion, chopped
1 1/3 c. Tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 Tsp. Garlic
1 Quart Rich Chicken Broth
2 Tbsp. Dill
2 Whole Red Chili Peppers, fresh
4 Soft Corn Tortillas
½ c. Ripe Avocado, cubed
4 Tbsp. Sour Cream
¼ c. Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded

Heat 2 Tbsp. of oil in a large saucepan. Sauté’ onion, tomatoes, and garlic until tender (5 min). Add chicken broth and dill. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove seeds and stems from peppers and cut each in 2 pieces lengthwise. Cut tortillas in 1/3-inch strips and set aside. Heat remaining tablespoon of oil in small skillet and sauté peppers for ½ minutes. Remove and drain on paper towel. Add tortilla strips and cook until golden brown. Remove and drain separately on paper towel. Divide peppers, tortilla strips and avocado among 4 heavy bowls. Pour hot chicken broth into bowls. Garnish with sour cream and Monterey Jack cheese.

Thank you soo much for the recipe! I am going to make this on Thanksgiving! It is my aunts year to do the dinner and mine to do all the desserts..apple, pumpkin, pecan pies, assortment of Italian cookies and other treats!

I'm a little behind, but getting caught up :) When we were at Citricos all of our meat was slightly overdone. Still delicious, but it might be worth ordering it one notch below what you really want!

I agree with that...I would rather underdone than overdone!

I'm still hangin' in here. Lovin' the reviews and ready for more!

Hang on a little longer as there are more to come!

Sorry I was MIA last night but I am ready to update now! Where did I leave off? Oh yeah, dinner time at the CL lounge. What a freaking nightmare this was...the first few days of our stay the lounge was empty, tonight it was busier than Ohana! There was not a table or chair to be had, tons of large families were hogging it all, and they would leave their dirty dishes and what not behind and that left us sitting at a dirty sticky table...so I was ticked off to say the least.

I will not blame the CM's because they were doing their best to keep the food coming out and drinks filled and alot of the guests were yelling at them and it was not a pretty sight, totally soured my stay at the Poly CL. The line for the food was ridiculous, people were taking 2 plates or more and stacking the food sky high, grabbing full bottles of wine to take to their tables, 4 -6 beers each and full bottles of the Evian water.

I grabbed a dirty table, DH got some drinks and then we went up to get some food. The nights offerings were chicken satay, duck dumplings and Kona salad...as well as the hummus and pitas, Uncrustables, pineapple with caramel and cheese and crackers.

Dinner034-3.jpg

The chicken was excellent, very flavorful and tender. The duck potstickers were ok, a bit rubbery and the filling was dry. The Kona salad was wonderful! The beer was excellent and I do not like beer but as we sat and relaxed the crowd thinned by 5:30 and we were able to snag 2 more beers to take to our room. The nice CM that we know from the AKL CL was so apologetic and asked if there was anything we needed....she said the holidays are the worst for CL guests because it is way too busy.

Another thing we noticed last night and this morning is CL guests letting in non CL guests...there are alot of families here right now so they are all congregating in our lounge, regardless of the building they are staying in! That is REALLY making me see red!

We are skipping the CL lounge tonight because it is sushi night and we are going to Fultons anyways...more food for the crowds!

I am glad I remembered to send it to you! I am making it for Christmas. Let me know how you liked it.

By the way, I live in Plymouth, MA - aren't you from the Boston area?

Our goal was to go up to the room and relax until our dinner at the Wave. A Xmas movie was on the Family Channel and we started watching that but (get this) I fell asleep and DH didnt want to wake me and then he fell asleep! So we slept right through our dinner ressie and by the time we woke up it was 8:30!

So we were starving and decided to just go to Capt Cooks for dinner...to my surprise it was slammed!

Dinner039-2.jpg

DH had the chicken lo mein, we both love this, tons of food and huge on flavor!

Dinner002-3.jpg

And he had the soup of the day, it was excellent! Velvety and rich and creamy and delish!

Dinner004-4.jpg

I had the Grown Up Grill Cheese...this was a very nutty dense bread with boursin cheese, swiss and cheddar, mixed field greens and ruby red tomatoes...I just boarded the bus to flavortown with this sandwich! It was the best grilled cheese I have ever had! The Kona chips were great too and we shared them.

Dinner003-3.jpg

Dinner005-4.jpg

DH grabbed a chocolate cupcake, he said it was very moist and not overly chocolaty and the frosting was very good.

Dinner001-4.jpg

We love Capt Cooks for all meals! A fantastic place to eat at even if you are not staying at the Poly

Fulton's night. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: Wish I was going with you guys. I hope Todd has the CLAWS!!!! :)

We were just dog tired and I really wanted to go to MK for the EMH open until 3 am but it was my turn to whine and complain that I am too tired to move...I still cannot believe it!

We went to the lounge for some cocoa and it was completely empty. We hung out for a bit and took advantage of the quiet and just stared at the Castle.

Here are the evening desserts

Banana tarts

Dinner006-4.jpg

Macaroons...Todd loves all things coconut but these were as hard as rocks...he could not cut them with a knife or bite into them they were soooo hard!

Dinner007-4.jpg

Key Lime Tarts

Dinner008-4.jpg

Brownies

Dinner009-4.jpg

Guava cake

Dinner010-4.jpg

Then we went upstairs and crashed!

mmmm I love the chicken lo mein at Capt. Cooks! I was surprised at how yummy the food was there.

Two of the most amazing people I have yet to meet though I feel like I know them and consider them great friends!

My chocolate loving hubby was shocked and thrilled at the kindness of these fantastic people! And of course he was showing his gratitude by chomping away at one of the Mickey ears! The chocolate box is filled with chocolate hearts and they are delicious!

Karin and Tom, thank you very much for your thoughful gift! We will be thinking of you as we sip our Rosa Regale (they sell it at the Poly gift shop) and nibbling on our sweets!

I hope to make it up to WDW when you guys are there so we can treat you to drinks an appies somewhere!

Nicki
