LIVE "Real-Time" Photo Blog From Animal Kingdom Villas!

Looking at your photos of the 1 BDR villa has me rethinking staying there at some point. The room theming really looks great, thanks for sharing with us. Have a great time!

Hey everyone!

I just finished up Day 2 of the Mother & Son AKV Christmas trip.

Mom arrived at about 1:30 this afternoon. She said the Magic Express was crowded. She was on a full bus.

After mom arrived, she dropped off her stuff at Bell Services and then I showed her around the resort. After grabbing a quick snack at The Mara we headed off on the bus to The Magic Kingdom and then hopped the monorail to The Contemporary Resort.

We explored The Contemporary a bit and went to the bar at The Wave. After a couple of drinks, it was time for dinner at the Wave. Dinner was really good! Mom had fish and I had the Beef Tenderloin. They were both really good... sorry, but I didn't grab pictures.

Right at 5:00, I got the text message saying that the room was ready. Room #5402. It was dark by the time we got in to the room, so look for photos of the view tomorrow.

After dinner, we both headed back to AKV to check out the room and pick up our luggage for bell services. Mom was tired from her trip, so she decided to grab a bottle of wine, hit the jacuzzi tub and go to bed early...can't say I blame her.

I decided to head to the MK after freshening up and changing in to a sweatshirt (it was chilly tonight). I was able to get a lot done! First thing, I grabbed a fast pass for space mountain, then did the Laugh Floor. I finally made my way around the lands of the magic kingdom. Lines were really good. The longest I waited was about 20 minutes for BTMRR.

I took a few photos from a few of the rides I visited. There's also a few video clips from the MSEP. Enjoy!

The Magic Kingdom closed at 1:00, and I got back around 1:30am. I am going to be sleeping in tomorrow, for sure. Tomorrow we have Tusker House for lunch, so we'll be at Animal Kingdom! Then I plan on going to DHS for EMH. Be sure to check the link throughout the afternoon/evening tomorrow for photos and maybe some videos!

As for the space difference between the normal sized room and the value sized room: I honestly don't feel like the extra space in a normal rooms adds anything to the room. The only issue I had with space in the value room was that there wasn't any place to put a suitcase in the master bedroom, but I always put the suitcases by the studio/1-bedroom connecting door anyway. The extra chair in the bedroom on the normal room won't ever be missed. Other than that, the extra space just seems to spread stuff out a bit. The room doesn't feel any larger, nor did the value room feel cramped. From now on, i'm just booking value 1-bedrooms.

Thank You so much for posting the pictures of the 1 Br Value Villa :goodvibes They have to be the best pictures of them that i have seen & it adds to my excitement about staying in one :woohoo: :woohoo:

Enjoy the rest of your vacation :)

Day 3:

Today we did Animal Kingdom. We did the 3 big shows: Festival of the Lion King, Flights of Wonder, and Finding Nemo. We also fit Dinosaur and Expedition Everest in. We ate dinner at Tusker House, which was delicious. We were both stuffed after the meal.

The weather all day was gorgeous. A little cool, but still perfect.

After Animal Kingdom, Mom headed back to the room and I went to Hollywood Studios. Rode Rockin Rollercoast a few times and also rode Tower of Terror. After that, I grabbed a quick bite at ABC Commissary, and checked out the Osborne Lights.

Wow, the Osborne Lights are amazing. I spent a good hour, maybe two there just taking it all in. You can't help but getting in the Christmas Spirit there, no matter how big of a scrooge you might be.

So, I took some photos of the Lion King, Finding Nemo, and a bunch at Hollywood Studios. There's also a quick video of Finding Nemo and a couple from the Tower of Terror. Finally, there are two videos of a couple of the dancing light segments at Hollywood Studios and a quick clip of a few cast members there getting in to the spirit.

Enjoy!

Thanks for your awesome photo blog! We will be staying at AKV for our upcoming Christmas trip. The tree there is my favorite because it's so unique. Your photos are wonderful!:wizard:

We stayed in a 1Bdr Lake view in BLT last year and were in love! We've just returned from Thanksgiving in BCV and enjoyed it very much - but missed the "newness" of the BLT. Now we are scheduled to spend our Spring Break in a standard view at AKV Kidani - can't wait!! Thank you so much for the pics - really helpful and the Christmas Tree in the lobby photo was fab!!

Hope you are keeping warm and having a blast!:yay:

Wow, this is great. Thanks for posting! I can't wait to get to AKV and eat at Boma. I always say Boma is the only restaurant that would be worth the cost of airfare just to fly down for the night to eat at! Are you going to Sanaa by any chance?

I have never seen the Osborne lights in person, only pictures... so I had no idea they were set to music!!! May have to put this on my "to do" list now.

Can I ask what kind of video camera you're are using? Thanks :goodvibes
