Hey Everyone!

I'm just packing up the my laptop and everything before I leave for Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas. It's an adult Mother/Son Christmas trip!

I'm leaving today and have value 1-bedroom in Jambo for tonight. Then I move in to a standard view 1-bedroom in Jambo and my mom arrives tomorrow. We are then staying until Friday, Dec 10!

So I plan on taking pictures and uploading photos to my Mobile Me gallery during the trip the moment that it's happening. If you've ever wanted an Animal Kingdom Villas Christmas trip...prepare to live vicariously!

That link will take you to all the pictures i've taken. Check back often throughout the next week for lots of continuous updates!

I'll also post back to this thread about once a day or so, for a recap! Let me know if there's anything you want to see about AKV or anything else, for that matter.

Have a great time. We eat that same breakfast at the airport before every trip. It's vacation. Mine as well splurge a little.
Looking forward to updates.

Can't wait to see some pictures of your Value 1BR.. here's hoping you get a nice view!

Hope you made it safely!! Cant wait to see more!!

Please post pictures of your value villa. Pictures of the value rooms seem to be the hardest thing to find. We are staying in a 2br value for 12 nights next June and would love to see how much room will be available in the 1br section. Thanks in advance and have a great trip.

I plan on taking tons of 1 bedroom value photos an posting!

I just landed and am posting this from the magic express bus!

Stay tuned for lots of akv photos, room photos, probably some DHS photos and photos of dinner at Jiko!

All of it posted live as it's happening!

Your value one bedroom looks identical to the standard one bedroom we stayed in last year. How much smaller is it? Have a wonderful time!

Thanks for your wishes of good luck.... Sadly, it seems I got the "parking lot" view. Although, I must admit: You can barely see it. Just looking out the window, I see a bunch of trees that look like they are from Africa...I am honestly not disappointed by it at all.

If you look hard between the trees, you can see pavement (see my pictures). But overall, it's still a good view. :thumbsup2

I can't say for sure yet. The official measurement is that the value room is 3 feet shorter from door to balcony. This is my first time staying at AKV, so I have nothing to compare it to. I move to a standard view room tomorrow... but honestly, this room doesn't feel any smaller than a typical 1 bedroom. I would enthusiastically book the value 1 bedroom again if I wanted the 1 bedroom amenities, but didn't have 1 bedroom points...they are such a wonderful value!

Overall: The room is in PERFECT condition. Extremely clean and it was ready when I arrived, at about 5:00pm

I was planning on going to Hollywood Studios after getting off the plane to hit up ToT and RnR, but by the time I got to the room and freshened up it was 6:00, and i have a 9:00pm dinner reservation... I would have just enough time to get there, go in to the park and then turn around and head back.

New Plan: Relax... read my book a bit, have a nice leisurely late dinner, and then hop in the jacuzzi tub and just relax. Then I can wake up nice and refreshed for a busy week!

I decided to spend some time grabbing a quick snack at the mara (see pictures), and explore the resort a bit.

Overall, I am loving this resort so far. BLT will always be home and I do love my home resort, but I will have no problems making a reservation here either! OKW & SSR (the other resorts i've stayed at) i've only found to be "meh". BLT, and now AKV, are both "WOW!"

A lot of people have brought up issues with the room being dark: I can see why you might think that, but honestly, I like it. The low lighting fits the theme of the resort very well. It's very warm and relaxing.

The only negative that I can think to report at this time is that outside the window, you can barely hear the busses. They sound very very distant, and you almost have to be listening for them in order to notice them. It won't be a problem for me at all, but some peopel who are used to quiet when sleeping might find them to be an issue.

My initial impression: A+

I posted TONS of pics of the value room i'm in: http://gallery.me.com/youreverydayadam/100022

Remember to check the link through out the next week. I'll be posting stuff to that link constantly and as it happens. If you have any AKV and/or Disney photo requests, please let me know!

Everything looks great. I hope you have a wonderful time! Thanks for sharing the pictures. We would love to stay at AKL some day.

Thank you! For some reason I'm really giddy about getting our 1BR Value this March, and pictures are hard to come by. I really appreciate you taking the time. Any more closets other than the one in the master? Looks like a decent room, even the parking lot view doesn't seem that bad at all.

Look forward to seeing pictures from the rest of your trip. Again, thanks!

Thanks so much for the great pictures. There looks like plenty of room in the value villa. Makes me all the more excited about my family's June trip now. Thanks again!

Yes! There are TWO other closets. One HUGE one in the kitchen area (see my room photo titled "Entry", the double doors are a closet) and a smaller one in the hallway between the master bedroom and the bathroom (see my room photo titled "Hallway", 1/2 of it is the washer & dryer, but the other half is a closet!)

The "parking lot" view is actually quite nice. From inside the room, not on the balcony, All I can see is some very dense foliage...it really fits in with the theme. If I go out on the balcony, then through the foliage I can see tiny bits-and-pieces of parking lot. Also, the noise that I mentioned in my earlier post wasn't a problem at all in the bedroom... I couldn't hear it at all... either it was late enough that noise was lessened (11:30pm) or they have some extra sound-proofing in the bedroom.

I ran the jacuzzi tub last night... it is a LOT bigger than it looks. I'm short (5'5") but i'm also a big guy (pooh sized)...I was able to lay completely flat in the tub, and the water was very deep...came up over my belly. It was a very nice tub!

The bed was very comfortable. It was firmer than i'm used to, but definitely not "OKW Firm".

More live REAL-TIME photo blogging coming up! Be sure to check out the link throughout the day...I won't be able to post here, but i'll be uploading photos as-they-happen!
