My daughter just moved to Orlando and we attend SSW every year. She lives about 30 minutes from DW and we were thinking we should book a room at Disney for Saturday night to attend the 2 day event. Would you spend the money for one night to save the drive back and forth? It seems like a lot of driving back and forth since we are also attending the F&W festival on Friday. Thanks!:goodvibes

ABSOLUTELY! I would and DO stay for one night! In fact, my dh and I just returned from an "adult night getaway" at the Hard Rock Hotel and a day of rollercoasters at Universal Orlando and we live 10 minutes from Universal.........

We are also planning a night at the contemporary soon w/ our 2 year old dd for a full day at the magic kingdom!

We just look at all the money we save on no airfare!

Do it! :thumbsup2

I don't always, but I certainly occasionally get a room for a night so I don't have to be going back and forth. :)

If it were me, I'd get the room for Friday and Saturday nights! I don't need much of an excuse to stay on property though. I live about 20 minutes away, but if I'm going to something where I'll be in the parks until closing, I always book a room. I don't like fighting the crowds out of the parking lots late at night. I'd rather leave the driving to someone else.

We recently moved about 10 miles north of Orlando and around a 45-50 minute drive to WDW. We find it to be a nice little vacation to book a night at a Disney resort (when the price is right) or a Downtown Disney resort or a hotel near WDW. Even if we just go to Downtown Disney or the Boardwalk we get a shot of Disney magic.

Also, one reason we like to book a room is I don't like to drive or have my wife drive if we have had a couple of drinks. I'd rather have a couple of beers in Downtown Disney and know I can take a bus back to my Disney resort or walk back to my Hotel Plaza hotel and not worry about the driving aspect.

:goodvibes Thank you all for the replies.....I think I WILL book a room for Friday AND Saturday just to have the convenience of not going back and forth.....also, with no airfare and no ticket purchase (seasonal passholders here) I can justify the costs......YIPPEE!!! can't wait!!:thumbsup2
