Been working for the Canal since 1987. 13 years with the US Gov. and the last 5 with the Panamanian government. Been a pilot since '95. Before that I was a tugboat captain.

That must be a very interesting job at least at first. It seems like it might get boring after awhile unless you get to do other jobs on and off.

I was one of the 3 pilots last May. I got to work on the stern of the MAGIC... on deck sorrounded by passengers... that was cool

Hmmmm you know you're right Kelli... I remember eating breakfast with him at Lumieres... then BBQ lunch on the BAV... with lots of snacks in between.....yet he stays so slim and trim. Love ya Alvaro!!

Of course he doesn't have close personal connected friends on every cruise ship....
