We arrived "home" at POR right around lunch time. The trip down was really easy this year. I was able to check in for my Jet Blue flight online yesterday while at work. I printed my boarding passes ahead of time which made the airport a breeze. After parking the car and a short ride on the shuttle bus we were greeted by a porter who tagged our checked bags. Then it was off to the security check point.

Now, DH and I have traveled frequently enough that we are pretty much un-fazed by security. My DILs...not so much. However, the TSA's were friendly and helpful and quickly recognized the infrequent travelers in our midst. We survived the air poofer, the metal detector and the luggage scanner without too many mishaps...then it was off to our gate.

When I booked our flight, I used a trick I learned here on the Dis...I booked 2 windows and 2 aisles...hoping that the middle seat would remain empty so that we could have the whole row to ourselves. For the second time EVER it worked. The flight was almost completely full, too. So we were lucky.

Upon landing in Orlando, the warm air and palm trees were a welcome sight. We had nearly a foot of snow on the ground when we left. So, even the threat of rain and temps in the 60's sounded pretty good to us. My motto is - you don't have to shovel rain! We rode the shuttle over to the Hertz lot. And within minutes we were heading for our car. I was able to check in for the rental car yesterday, too, at work. I'm really starting to appreciate modern technology.

A short drive later we were pulling into the check-in parking at POR. This is DH and my FAVORITE resort. It feels like coming home every time we visit. There was no line for check in...and, better yet, our rooms were ready! I really was not expecting that at 11am. We settled in then headed to the food court for some lunch. Then it was off to DTD via the water taxi. We shopped until I was ready to drop. It didn't take much since I was up at 3:45am (after going to bed sometime after 11pm.) Then back to the room for a nap before our 5:30 ADRs at Boatwrights.

Dinner was very good. I was a little bit disappointed at the limited selections on the menu. There really was not any appetizer that appealed to me. And the dessert selections seemed sparse. But let me tell you, the main course did not disappoint. And the cornbread was just heavenly.

Now we are resting up before going back over to the Lounge to catch Piano Bob's show. DIL's have not seen his show before. So, they are in for a real treat. It's off to MK tomorrow for our 1 and only park day on this trip. I hope the rain holds off. I don't mind the cooler temperatures. But I'd really rather not be soggy. That's it for now...almost time to go. I should probably wake up sleeping DH so he doesn't miss the show.
