First off to all of you DVC owners that own here...oh my gosh we are in LOVE with this resort!! We have stayed at VBR, SSR and BCV and can honestly say that OKW beats them all. We are in the Turtle Pond area, building 38 and the only thing I can say that I dislike about this location is the road noise, but other than that it is quiet...no noise from neighbors and we have a corner one bedroom unit so the balcony is private as well...eating dinner out there in a few minutes. The people who work here are all so nice and we are so glad that we are coming back here in September with my brother and my nephews for their first WDW visit!! Now to convince DH to buy resale...;)

Oooh. Rub it in that you are there and we are not.

We bought our DVC resale (before the changes) and have not regretted it.

We have owned OKW since 1992, it is still my favorite resort. I love staying in the one or two bedroom (depending on how many children can be with us)
Having breakfast and watching the golfers in the morning or having a glass of wine and watching the sun go down is perfect.

OKW is the only WDW resort I like to stay at now. So laid back. Stop at the Gurgling Suitcase in the evening. I've met some very nice DVC'rs there.

Or just hang out tonight at the hot tub. Always great conversations there!

We will be staying in a 1BR in Jan. 2012 and cannot WAIT. So glad you are having a great vacation and are loving this outstanding resort! :cloud9:

I own at the BWV, but OKW is one of my favorites (along with AKV). If I have friends with me, we usually stay at OKW since it's so laid-back and so close to DTD.

Have a wonderful, relaxing vacation!

Terri

We love OKW! We stayed there our 2nd time back in the same area as you, and it is tops in our book. The 1 beds are great, lots of room. We own at VWL and it is #1 in our hearts, but OKW and BWV run a very close 2nd. We will be going back in Oct and cant wait!

DD (13) and I will be there later today. We should be there now but had plane issues. Oh well, our Mickey trip is delayed by a few hours but it could be worse. Someone took my purse out of my briefcase and left it on the table. Spouse had to return home to retrieve it, an hour drive away. :sad2:
At least we will be arriving in time for our dinner reservations. Have you noticed, are there many pre-teen/early teens in the pools? Sarah is afraid she will have to spend all her time hanging with "old" mom and is really hoping there are young people her age to hang with in the pools.
