Tonight we dined at Citrico's in the Grand Floridian. This is always a meal that we look forward to, and we have eaten there once or twice each time we visit the mouse. On to the blow-by blow....
Here is Frank, ready to chow down.
I started with a Long Island iced tea, which was delicious. Ed ordered a glass of merlot.
We both ordered our favorite appetizer, the sautéed shrimp with lemon, white wine, tomatoes, and feta cheese. This is a perfect combination of flavors when eaten with the delicious olive bread (oh, so yummy dipped in the broth).
Naughty bear alert: apparently when I was adjusting the camera Frank ate some of each of our meals. No way we ate half of our meals before I remembered to take pictures.....
Berkshire Pork two ways (rotisserie pork tenderloin and roasted Berkshire pork belly with aged white cheddar polenta, Nueske's smoked bacon, brussel sprout hash finished with blood orange cranberry demi-glace)
This was extremely yummy, well prepared and cooked perfectly to order. The brussel sprout hash was a nice surprise, and I'm pretty sure even sprout haters would like this.
This is the remains of Ed's fillet: he absolutely loved this, and he finished every bite. He was also kind enough to help me finish my pork, which allowed me to save room for dessert!
Frank!!!!! Get your snout out of my tropical creme brûlée! This was really good, and even though I was pretty full I managed to finish it all.
This is Hubbs' tiramisu.... I snuck a couple of bites, and it really was outstanding. He had some decaf coffee and I savored a decaf cappuccino.
Geeze, wiz, you turn your back on the little bear and he scoots into the kitchen...I think he was just trying to score more food...but the chefs loved him, and pretended to throw him in the fire. He got scared, and I'm pretty sure he left some boom-booms behind.....
We ended our night on the dock watching the fireworks. A wonderful finale for our grand Citrico's experience!
This continues to be our go-to pick when we are looking for a great meal.
(Hubbs is trying to talk me into going back there again for our last meal this trip.)
