Live from Kidani! Now with lots of Pictures 6/14!

We just got home.. Sorry for deserting this post.. I was just having too much fun! :cool1::cool1: We really loved Kidani. I wouldn't say it's my favorite resort but I am VERY happy we bought here. I am concerned about the lack of food offerings. While the walk to Jambo is not that far it's just very time consuming and a hassle. I have a feeling they will change this because many people were complaining.

While we were there they were tapping some type of video. Which was cool UNTIL they asked my mother to move her pool seat so they could sit these young models in her place. I thought it was very rude and insulting. The person arranging the video shoot offered to buy us lunch but we declined.

I promise I will post pics soon. We are just getting home and unpacking.

Overal our room was very quiet and we saw animals all the time. I was very disappointed I didn't discover Camp Club(Can't remember the name) until our last 2 days. My son would have loved to take part of this. Oh well it gives us something to look forward too next time.

Transportation was good. I do have some concerns about how full the buses will be once the resort is finished. Not so much for Kidani moreso Jambo.

We loved our first visit there as owners. It was a lovely upscale resort and it is our new favorite. We bought BLT for location but loved the layout of Kidani and the community room. We also loved the pool area but wondered why it opened so late. We had issues with a few things but we spoke to the Operations Manager and he promised to fix whatever he could. I hope they were fixed by your arrival

1 Was the pitcher a full sized pitcher or was it a baby sized pitcher

2 Did they open the water park earlier

3 Did they provide full sized creamer and sugar pieces. The ones we had were so little my granddaughter thought they were part of a kids play set

4. Did they have more Knowlegeable staff. Not that the staff wasn't superb I mean better educated in the resort in which they worked. They never seemed to know anything

5 Did they have more traditional options on the Saana menu. It is hard for those of us with issues with spicy foods to eat there.

Otherwise, and despite these small issues, we had a marvelous time there. I can't wait to go back.

I'm very happy we bought into AKV also and if I "get stuck" with an AKV reservation because I couldn't switch to VWL or BWV, I'll still be happy :)

Oh No! That was rude!
And then after making her feel like her body's not up to par they offer FOOD? Come on guys.

They could have at least offered was a full set of fastpasses for the rest of your stay ;)

Camp Club? Can you fill us in??? Is it a daily club for kids? Is there a cost?

I think the name is Camp Kidani and it was free. It was from 9-11, 2-4 and 6-8. 1 camp was about animal, the other about sports and the last one I think was about reptiles and amphibians(sp??). Each time you complete 1 you get a wooden pin and if you collect all 3 you get something else special. It's a nice break for the kids. I wish I would have known about it earlier. Information is in the lobby.

What ages is it geared towards? Would my 11 year old be too old? :cutie:

I think the ages were from 6-12 but I maybe mistaken. I think it's perfect for children 6-10.. Not sure if 11 or 12 olds would like it. I would know more had we tried it. I was really bummed I didn't look into it until our final days. By then we had too many other plans.

I agree... My mother is as skinny as they come but apparently she was "too old" for the mood they were trying to set. Which I find very strange seeing there are many grandparents with the families.

I did find it entertaining to watch them.. Now I know why all those people look so darn happy in those videos.. It's all staged.

Great pics! Thanks for posting. We will be there in a few days. Can't wait to be there.

It probably was rude to bump her, but I'd of chowed the free lunch and made sure my entire party did so with me.

Looks nice! Although, in general, AKL is not my favorite resort (I'm just not into that whole "African" thing) I love how they incorporated the theme.
