Checked into BWV on 5/17.
So far, things have been great. The CM that checked us in found a room in the quiet pool area that we preferred. Couldn't get in until after 4pm, but that was no big deal.
I gave the room a good look when we arrived. The only real issue I noticed was some mildew on the shower stall seal. The fridge took about 24 hours to really cool off, but that was no biggie.
Incidentally, the room next to ours seemed to be getting a pretty substantial cleaning this afternoon. We popped back to the room for a quick nap before dinner. I could hear a fair amount of banging, vaccuuming, etc. in the next room. Convinced that it would quit at any moment, I eventually fell asleep. About an hour later I was back awake, and the noise continued. At one point, I even heard them using a scrub brush on the balcony. And, when I later left our room, I took a peek through the open door as I walked past the room. There must have been a dozen spray bottles with different solutions sitting on a table just inside the door.
Don't know if this part of the typical cleaning measures taken after a guest leaves, but it was awful thorough. The room had been occupied just yesterday; we heard a baby cyring through the wall for a couple of minutes.
Anyway, the parks are nicely crowded, but it isn't overwhelming. Monday afternoon at MGM was pretty dead. TOT and RNR were both 5-10 minutes standby. Monday night at MK had a 20-30 minute wait for SM.
Today, things were a bit busier. By mid-morning, Test Track had a 30-60 minute standby time. Mission Space was closer to 20 minutes.
(Incidentally, Test Track appears to be the one attraction that is DESPERATELY in need of a rehab. Most notably, the video/audio queues throughout the ride weren't always in sync, the video screen in our car was completely non functional, and you could smell burning rubber throughout the attraction from disintegrating tires. And a lot of other little bells and whistles throughout the ride were absent.)
In the evening, we tried the nighttime EMH at MGM. That went about as expected. The Fantasmic crowds dumped right into TOT and RNR and those lines were huge right away. I bet EMH was great for people who skipped Fantasmic, but it appeared that the vast majority of the 8000 folks at Fantasmic were sporting the red wristbands for EMH.
They did have FastPass open, and it was a Godsend. Our RNR return time was only 20 minutes from the time we got the pass, and it helped us avoid a standby line that was every bit of 45-60 minutes.
We'll be here until Thursday. Feel free to post or PM if you have any questions.
