Yes we are a one bed lake view..room 7742. I really wanted to be on the outside of the c not inside facing blot pool and other rooms so I requested even numbered room. I also requested close to the walkway as I didn't,t want to be too high up and too far from the contemporary.
Iam happy with the room and location...7th floor is just about right for me..not too high scared of heights

I knew as soon as I started reading your post you were in a room ending in "42". LOL. We had the room 2 floors above you last October (our first ever DVC stay) and we experienced pretty much everything you've posted!

We're going back in 2 weeks and have a 2BR reserved, I'm crossing my fingers for one of the rooms ending "44"!
