As first time visitors to AKL I have to say it is amazing! The staff, the rooms, the lodge. Amazing! The lodge is packed though. I guess some company called "Sun Trust" has almost the entire lodge. There was nooooo super early check-in here. I had to beg and plead to get something at around 1:30 because my son wasn't feeling well due to a bad EE experience and the heat. Craig at the front desk was AWESOME and got us an amazing room on the 3rd floor on Kuzu trail in the second building. It's great.

I'll have a detailed trip report when I get back but just wanted to share my excitement.

Glad you're having a great time. Hope your son gets to feeling better sooon!

Hope your son is feeling better soon! Is it hot there right now? Make sure he drinks lots of water so he doesn't get dehydrated.

How's the view from your balcony? Is there a lot of animal activity going on? Have a great time!

We will be at AKL Sunday through Thursday! Can't wait. Our first trip to Disney World too!!!

thanks for posting, hope your son is feeling better. can't wait for your trip report......:cheer2:

Our son is feeling better. I thinkit was just the heat (we're comign from -3 weather so it's a bit of a shock for the system) and being scared witless on EE. He's just fine now.

I can't say enough about the resort. It's amazing. If you have kids, try to find time to have them do the bead activities. The front desk can give you a card with the times and locations of it. They do five or so of them every day and they are so much fun. They really learn a lot, have fun and can make a cool bead necklace at the end.

The pool is awesome, Boma and Mara rock and the animals are incredible. We've had TONS of animal activity. They place a lot of food and grass around so the animals hang out. As I'm typing and looking out my window at 7:30am there are a bunch of large, white birds outside my window. I can see Impalas in the distance. Usually we have an Eland that sleeps right outside our window. Yesterday we can back in the afternoon and there were three Elands sitting right outside the window, two zebras, a giraffe and three wildabeasts. It was insane. It's incredible. You could honestly take an entire day to just explore the lodge and do all that they have to offer.

Oh yeah, and try to do the little presentation they have in the evenings where they talk about one of the Cast Members villages. It's very interesting!
