Live from 11 Nights in Paradise, Disney Wonder 9/17/06 - 9/28/06

Hi Everyone

Great day in St. Kitts yesterday. A little rain off and on all day but not enough to spoil a great time in port.

Pirate night was great as always. Lots of people in the group photo. Pirate deck party and fireworks was also great.

Quiet day at sea today and tomorrow. Hard to believe it's almost over already.

In less than 7 hours, this magical vacation will come to an end. We've met so many wonderful people during the past 11 days and made many new friends. With so much going on throughout the cruise, it was impossible to meet every one of the DIS members on board, but we tried our darndest :p

First and foremost I have to thank our servers, Anil and Renato for making mealtime such a joy and a barrel of laughs each night..... we will miss you. Marissa, I know Stitch has found a loving foster-mother in you and I hope he brings you the joy he's always brought to me. (And if we hear a news report about everyone's left shoes disappearing, we'll know who's to blame :lmao: ).

I really don't want our time onboard to come to an end, but unfortunately the real world is intruding :( It's na-ni-na time. Look for pictures once we get home and I have access to all my editing software..........it's gonna take a while to go thru the 3000+ photos we took.

wow! I can't believe the ship is back today...can't wait to hear everyone's reports!

All I can say at this point is - GREAT CRUISE. The weather was just about as good as you could hope for. The crew was great. Great excursions. To sum it up - one of the best cruises yet!

I would have to add my second to this w/o hesitation.

Only one day with a very light shower only in St. Kitts

A BIG THANKS to everyone who made the trip enjoyable and it was wonderful meeting people and putting a face with a name.

Hope everyone had or is having or will have a trip home safely

OMG-that was the best cruise!! We absolutely had the best time ever! The service was the best (we even took one of our servers home with us-long story! haha) the stateroom host worked magic, the islands were spectacular and Disney even did a great job on the weather!! Every time we went to our room, it seemed we had another surprise waiting for us. Everyone was so generous and super nice (especially the DISers). I can't wait to go back!!!

tell us the story about taking home one of your servers.

Just got home from the sailing....

.... this was one of the very best voyages we've ever taken! So much nice to share (especially from the involved and neighborly DIS folks!) - but it's late and I gotta get some rest. SO I'll post somethin' more later - and I'll try to sort trough some of the 6,632 pictures I shot and kept. And that's not counting the pictures I shot on our debarkation day! And yeah... now I have LOTS of material for photoshopping images in the years to come.... LOL... I'm just kidding. I have a number which may qualify as moderately memorable to some....

Oh well... I kno... I'm a nut with the camera. Oh yeah... we rebooked for Septeber 15th 2007 ... and all our table mates rebooked for the same voyage as well? Anyone else rebook yet? And any returning on the 15th with the Magic (Eastern)?

OK.... gotta run now....

Get some rest...

Cheers!

Here are a couple of handy snap shots. Not my best 0 just quick selections....

Well, I have to say that the cruise was awesome! We are now at WDW and playing until Sunday then flying home.

Our DD Jamie (14) flew out from Utah and met us yesterday morning at the airport and we picked her up on our way in from the ship.

Didn't post from the ship as they didn't have an unlimited internet access fee. Had to pay .75 per minute. Guess they knew all of us were on from the PC cruises!

Jamie and Robert are scuba diving with Scott and Lynn and the rest of the group tonight at Epcot at the Living Seas, then we are headed over to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

Ate with Ken and Shari last night at O'Hana's and watched fireworks at the MK at 9 p.m.

Okay, off to MGM for the day!

I hope that it is o.k. with everyone that I do my trip posts here, rather than separately. Here goes...

Saturday morning. The trip begins. The flight indy to Atlanta and then to Orlando was an adventure. First a flight delay and then a sick passenger had to be taken off plane. We ended up 2hrs late getting in to Orlando. Then the airline lost a bag. It was found about an hour later. The rental car from Budget was easy.

We finally make it to the port and the Radisson where we met up with Cheryl & Bob(webray) . Also get meet Sue and her daughter Christina and Sue’s mother Barbara, Harry and Beth.

Dinner at Grills with Cheryl & Bob was great. Fish sandwich for dinner was very good.
Got to wave bye to the Magic as it was leaving.

Cheryl had brought along the Big Mickey Hands for us to wave. Definitely a wonderful evening.

Linda (seaulater)...if you are reading this...please check your PM's....thanks

Sounds like it was a great trip!!!!!!!!!!

For those who are checking this thread and would like to know the Fish Extender contest winners I have just listed them on the Cruise Meet thread.

Sunday morning. It is a hectic for sure. The biggest hang up is the rental car return. I think everyone that had a Budget car was trying to return it all at once. But we eventually made it to port for check in.
Here we get to meet more Disers. Gail and David (Glindamood), Linda and Terry (Dznelin
Tigrrtum) and Kathy and Mike (Papa). Soon we get to go aboard.
We have lunch a Parrot Cay with a couple from New Jersey. The buffet is good as always. We are also joined by Chip and Dale.
Before we know it, it is time for the Dismeet. It is so good to meet old and new friends on the ship.

After the muster drill, it is time for the SailAway party. The first meeting of the Grass Skirt Fraternity (GSF). We also enjoy the Grass Skirt drink.

Before long we are out to sea.
Dinner at Animators is the first time table 23 is all together. At our table are Bob & Cheryl, Scott & Lynn, Bill &Tracy, Peter & Jenn, and the sisters Leslie and Elaine. What a great group to dine with each evening. Our servers are Charlie, from the Philippines and Chris from the Netherlands.
It has been a long day, so we go to bed right after dinner, looking forward to our first day at sea.
