I'm thinking of doing a Little Mermaid party for dd. She talks about Pretty Mermaid all the time. Trying to teach her its "Little" Mermaid. But she loves it.

I've seen the cute party decorations. :thumbsup2

But dunno what to give the "boys" that will come. Surely they will not want the Little Mermaid gift boxes I see online. If do something I'd like it to be similar for all kids so they don't feel different. Is it weird to do Little Mermaid and give totally off the theme party favors?

Anyone have the experience of a Little Mermaid party?

you can always do sand buckets as favors and just do a boy and a girl versions

Oh what a great idea. :) Seeing as her birthday is in July its summery stuff and fits the theme sorta. Can wrap the stuff in cellophane(sp?) and they can take it out to use the buckets for candy/trinkets from pinata. :thumbsup2

You can do a "Under the Sea" party... Little Mermaid & Nemo. Decorate the home w/ sea shells and beach items and fish cut-outs on the wall. Buy Little Mermaid & Nemo plates, cups, deco, etc.

Give the Girls, Little Mermaid and the Boys, Nemo items. Buy the Big Plastic Cup w/ the character and fill w/ various gender-selected items and Bubbles. Then wrap w/ celaphane paper.

Did this w/DD birthday party, then 2.

My oldest DD had a Little Mermaid party for her 4th birthday. But, because we were inviting boys too, we did the Under The Sea theme. We still had Little Mermaid stuff all over, but we made sure that the party favors were geared for boys & girls. I found "fish" themed fruit snacks, seashell stuff, etc. It worked really well, and the boys really liked it too. We had pizza, and goldfish crackers. And, I made blue jello in a fish bowl with swedish fish "floating" in the blue jello.

Oriental Trading has TONS of fish and and dolphin goodies. There is also a really cute Disney burthday book out, I saw it at our library. I remember it had really cute shell shaped sandwhices made from refrigerated biscuits. And shell shaped macaroni salad, served in a sand bucket.

How about pirate stuff for the boys...not necessarily pirates, but Ive seen little treasure boxes for goodies. You could fill them with gold coins (chocolate), fish snacks, etc. After all, Ariel was big into collecting
"treasure"!

I just did this for my dd (3). We did a pirate and princess party. We also had "ariel" come as a special guest.:rolleyes1 Anyway- Oriental trading has tons of stuff. I had a tresure chest that Ariel gave out stuff from, I bought little skirts and crowns for super cheap, blow up princess wands and pirate swords (less worry about anyone getting hurt) pirate outfits, etc. I also bought little cardboard treasure chests for the boys for goody bags and filled them with pirate stuff and princess pocketbooks with all princess stuff in it. We decorated 90% princess and the rest was pirate stuff. It was a big hit and it was good for the boys as well as the girls. princess:

we went to a SpongeBob party once a the favor was a live goldfish in one of those little glass ivy bowls
