Little known fun things to do?!!

Not sure if this counts as 'not well known'. But do the drawing class at DHS in the Animation building. You get step by step instructions on how to draw a random disney character, when you are done you can keep your drawings as a free souvenir. I love this event and I have drawings of Donald, Pluto, Stitch, Chip (or as I call him, Zombie Chip) and one of the elves (larry?) from Prep and Landing.

YES! We had never done this until our last trip because none of us are any good at drawing, or really enjoy doing it. But this was so much fun! I think we took about 6 or 7 of the classes.

Thanks that sounds fun!!!

Back in 2007 there was a Disney's Best Kept Secrets thread that had some wonderful things to do and see that you might normally just overlook. I'm sure a lot of it is outdated especially with the Fantasyland Expansion and the many refurbs that have taken place.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/best-kept-secrets_mk.htm

We printed out the information, put it in a notebook and took it with us. It made us appreciate our surroundings even more.

I'm reading thru this. It may be somewhat outdated, like you said, but I'm enjoying it anyway. Good idea to print it out. We have a 16hr drive to WDW in Sept and this will make good reading in the car for my mom. and my dd12. Thanks for posting the link.

I would second lots of the ideas on here ... Chip 'n Dale's Campfire, Candy lady in Japan, etc. I would also add Cinderella's ponies at the Wilderness Campground. My girls loved seeing them!

The Bass Pro Fishing Excursions, leaving from several of the marinas, are excellent. We have been from the Poly, CR, and BC. All have been fabulous!

We have alot of fun with the hidden mickey's because they are everywhere. It gets us ineteracting with the CMs too. Lets us pass the time in line too. Some CMs will tell us of one and make us really search for others. We know there are lots of sites that list the locations, but for us we like the surprise of finding one.

Not really hidden but we did pressed pennies and had a BLAST! And by we, I mean myself and my 33 year old husband. We had so much fun! We'd wonder around and find a machine and run over to see if it was a "good" one. $.51 never bought us so much joy before.

Thanks, everyone, for sharing these. I would love to hear more if anyone has any.

Thanks,
Dreams

There's a wonderful hidden mickey tour at Wilderness Lodge. One of the Rangers takes you around and points them out to you. I'm not sure if this is on their daily schedule of events or not but you can certainly call their front desk when you are there to inquire.

My DD8 will love this! we've never done it either! 2 q's for you.... where is the Animation building? and do they do this like every hour, or what?

I don't have any tips popping out of my head right now but when I think of one I'll post it!

And we've NEVER seen DeVine either. I'm hoping to this trip!

Something I didn't know existed until this year was the YES program.

A nice price saver and the young ones get a behind the scenes tour without the expense of one.

Another vote for Yehaa Bob at PR Wed-Wat nights.

Unless it's a night I'm going to see Bob, I want a seat!

Anyone else notice that a key part was not included in the wording of this?

"Aladdin--The Golden Camel in front of the Aladdin ride (Adventureland MK) is controlled by someone hidden nearby and shoots unwary guests as they walk by. I stood there taking video from a distance and laughed my head off. Whoever was controlling it was able to nail a few people in the back of the head!"

We know it, of course, but the author does not indicate the people are being shot WITH WATER.

I love the idea of updating the old thread!

Things we love (some have already been mentioned):

- Push in Epcot and Devine at AK
- Candy Lady Epcot- she can no longer give away any candy after she makes it, but still awesome to watch
- Wishes Dessert Party- so nice to enjoy a little dessert and not be shoved or squished during the fireworks (tables are assigned so no fighting over spots)
- Hidden Mickeys (obvious but so much fun! there's a few books and some apps)
- Sword in the stone at MK- occasionally a CM is controlling it and will allow it to be removed (partially) kids get the best looks on their face when it works!
- Kim Possible Mission (being replaced with Agent P- Phineas and Ferb) at Epcot
- Haven't tried it yet but Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom sounds like fun! You sign up at the Firehouse
- Coca-Cola Cool Zone in EPCOT and watching people try Beverly for the first time (there's a thread of pictures on here somewhere)
- The Beach Club shows movies on the beach
- Electrical Water Pageant no crowds, and something different to watch from outside the parks
- The UK phone booths really work! You can call them and watch to see who answers (lots of fun!) (407) 827-9862, (407) 827-9863, (407) 827-9861
- The Singing in the Rain umbrella is in the Streets of America section - facing the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show area. Grab the handle stand on the black box on the ground and see what happens (can anyone confirm this is still there?)
- If you have a Disney Visa and go to Innoventions West at Epcot 1:30-4:30 you get a special character meet and greet and free 5X7 picture- you can go once per day
- It's all over the boards but being able to use fastpasses late is no longer allowed so if reading old threads please don't use that "secret"
- Do not miss out on Dole Whips! The floats are my favorite
- For pressed penny fans - http://www.presscoins.com has the locations of where to find what you're looking for

I'm sure there's a ton more if I think of them I'll be sure to add them! :cool1:

At HS, next to the Indiana Jones Stunt Specatacular is an archeological dig with a rope hanging down into a well. Pull the rope for a surprise. In fact, I believe there is a sign that says: Please pull rope.

What is the YES program?

Disney's youth educational series

http://www.disneyyouth.com/youth-education-series/

In this program you can sign up your kids to enjoy educational tours.

This is a must do in my family now. This year we are doing the Physics tour: Properties in Motion.

Besides a great tour you can also save a ton on your park tickets. I paid 182 for 5 day park hoppers and that price included one educational tour. You can select as many tours as you want for an additional 28 per person.
