Weight's been a constant battle my entire life. My poor mom...she was 5'2", and I weighed 14 pounds and some odd ounces when I was born.
Weight was never mentioned by my parents. I suppose it was the kids that made me be self conscious. Finally, being diagnosed with diabetes at 13, the doctor put me on a diabetic diet. By my Freshman year of high school I had cut down eating to having 1/2 cup of cottage cheese and a couple pieces of Melba Toast. Then after I ate I would run and exercise. No, not healthy. What did I care! I felt somewhat skinny. And a major thing for me was the legs! You know how some women have that space between their thighs. LOL! Well, never in my life did I have that...always wanted it. So even now I do leg lifts, scissors, but will never have that I suppose.
Guess it doesn't run in our family too much. A few years ago my sister had a bit of ps. Care to guess one of her areas? Yup, the inner thighs. But even when I'm a decent weight (although I don't like the number) and wear a size I can deal with, I still don't feel thin. Ran into an old friend during the holidays who let me know he thought I looked good. All I could think, after saying thank you, was...I've got quite a bit to lose! Hmmm...didn't seem to bother him but it did me. Peer pressure can be something else.
