Has anyone bought from this shop before? I just pre-ordered the Anna and Elsa dress duo for my DD4 and DD2. It was actually quite a bit cheaper than the Disney versions and they seem quite good.

I stopped at my local Disney store on Saturday to ask about Frozen items. First, they get Frozen shipments in on Saturdays. That morning, the line outside the mall started at around 6am. You are limited to one of each item, but the dresses are so popular that you are entered into a lottery, but you can only buy one dress. As the mama to two girls, that wasn't going to work for me. You can bring a second person with you, but the odds that you both will win the lottery are of course playing against you.

I was laughing a bit at the craziness of it all. I'm glad someone mentioned this store because it's a bit cheaper than what I was finding on Etsy, which was going to be my plan.

Of course, now that I bought the dresses, I have committed myself to making sure we meet A&E at DLR in August. :headache:

Ooooh I've looked at these too & wondered what they are like.... They look quite nice & do seem like a pretty good deal...

I'm taking the kids to BBB in Sept & have been wondering if I should risk waiting & hope they have the Anna/Elsa dresses in at the park by then or if I should be prepared & order these to bring over from Australia with us.

Would just love to hear some feedback before I commit, especially with the extra shipping fees & exchange rate ;)

We also preordered Anna and Elsa dresses for my DDs. My MIL bought my older daughter a wedding dress up from there and we got it within a few days. It's nice, lightweight and soft. No Velcro which I like. The skirt was very sheer but that could be because its white. It was pretty wrinkled because of the packaging but I think the material may be prone to wrinkles. No glitter like the disney store dresses which is good and bad. DDs love glitter but its messy/get everywhere. DD thinks the dress is comfortable which means longer wear, though she hasn't really ever complained about her disney store dresses either. I think for the price they are worth it and I also like that it will look different than 95% of the other little girls dressed up like Frozen.

I have a few dresses from there.
Pros:
* lightweight
* easy to get on and off (no zippers, buttons or velcro) by the kids themselves
* machine washable!
* no glitter to end up everywhere
* still looks great. DD wore her Christmas Belle dress around DLR in December and got lots of positive comments

Cons:
* it isn't the Elsa dress you see in the store. Period. I have the Elsa dress from Disney and it is a beautiful costume, lots of detail. My guess is for Elsa it will be a bit "womp womp" and just okay and for Anna it will be jim-dandy. I have snow white, christmas belle and sleeping beauty and those were all great.
* beware the tears -- this is thin kind of polyester/nylon. It can tear and then starts to shred. So take care of any tears ASAP and just sew it up.
* there is the wrinkling problem but steam it and leave it to hang and it's fine. I don't consider it too much of a problem.
* they can run big if you have a skinny kid. There's no way to cinch it. But there isn't with the Disney store dresses either so it's a draw.
* looks better with one of their petticoats that helps poof it out a bit so that's another add to the costs.

steaming it is a great suggestion, easiest way to do that is to hang it in your hotel bathroom so when you shower it gets steamed. :)
If you want more glitter you can buy spray glitter and just spray it on the dress, I did that a couple years back when I was the blue fairy for Halloween, I wanted lots of glitter but not so much in the car so we sprayed the skirt down when we got to the party and it glittered all night. :)
Finally, if you want to add a petticoat try alwaysunderpay dotcom they have great prices on things like that. :)

My DD9 loves the dresses from this shop. She is starting to move past dress up, but they are not scratchy, which she loves. She has a Belle (4 years old - too short now, but she still squeezes in), Pink dress and Rapunzel and she has worn them for years and they are in great shape.

we have not had any rips/tears, snags. DD wears them a lot, but mostly at home. We've taken them to Disney for BBB and general dress-up.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'm pretty excited as it sounds like they will be very nice. DD4 and DD2 both have some Disney costumes from Target that aren't nearly as elaborate as the Disney store ones, and they are perfectly fine with them, so I'm not really worried about that aspect. I did get the underskirts to go with them, so hopefully that helps.

Oz Mum- I will have them before you go on your trip, so I will update with my thoughts once I get them!

I hope so! I just tried buying the tiaras and Elsa's shoes on Disney store. They sold out in minutes!! It's so crazy! I'm hoping that it calms down a bit so I can get them before our trip.

I wanted to update that I received the dresses today. I opened them to look quick, and they really are beautiful. I purchased the under skirts to puff them out, and i would say they are necessary as the dresses have no crinoline at all like the Disney ones do. The material is quite soft, and the seams inside are finished with extra material to prevent itchies.

I will try to take pictures later, but they are even nicer in person than on the site. Do they look like the Disney ones? No. But they are quite pretty, seem more comfortable, they were cheaper, and I think they will hold up better.

Oh yay so happy to read this :)

I went ahead & placed an order what seems like years ago now haha - I just couldn't wait, with all the Frozen craziness I was paranoid about missing out!! I've just checked my email & there is one saying the dresses have been shipped so we should have them in the next week or two...

I'm so excited about giving them to my daughters, they don't know they have costumes on the way ;) Thankyou so much for the update - it's so good to know that they are lovely dresses. I hope your daughters adore them :)

Can you please tell me when you got your shipping notice? I got mine on June 30, but am still waiting. I just hope it gets here before next Friday as we are leaving for DL the next day.

Did it come via USPS or UPS?

Thanks!

I also got my notice June 30. They are located in Utah, though, and I am in Cali. Not sure where you are located. It shipped via USPS.

I think you'll be happy with them! I had talked with my oldest DD about them, but she's forgotten by now. Last week, she accidentally found the Jasmine costume I picked up on clearance last Christmas and was saving for her birthday trip, so I'm making sure this one stays a surprise! :)

I'm in the Bay Area as well. Guess it's taking longer to get to me. I did check my status and it arrived at SFO this morning. Hopefully I'll get it tomorrow or Monday.

Love this shop! The dresses are washable, easy on and off, non-irritating to sensitive skin, and really nicely made. I would not hesitate to buy from here for anyone considering making a purchase.

The Cinderella rag dress is adorable! I am so getting that for my niece!

I just looked at the photos. The Elsa dress doesn't look anything near authentic. Anna looks ok. The dresses are so much more widely available at the stores these days - I wouldn't waste $30 on that Elsa dress. I just showed DD5 and she said "that's not the REAL Elsa dress like mine"

Ok, well, you gave your opinion and I have mine. :) I happen to like them, and when I showed my DD4, she did too. I guess we'll just "slum it" with the knockoffs. ;) Luckily, my DDs have a wide appreciation, and I am not raising them to always demand brand labels.

She has no idea what a brand label is, she just said it doesn't look as nice as her dress. She thinks that Elsa gave her her dress, as every time she asked for the dress I had to tell her how hard they were to find, so when I finally did find one from her it was gifted "from Elsa". So I'd appreciate if you wouldn't assume to know how I am "raising" my daughter.

I think you're reading way too much into what I said. I never mentioned anything about how you are raising your daughter. I said I'm not raising mine to care, ie, whether the dress is from the Disney Store or not.

Also, you have to admit, your reply was heavy with implication. That's nice you worked so hard to find the dress. I didn't, but you said the dresses I chose aren't nice and don't look like Elsa's dress and are basically not good. So, yes, my reply was a bit tongue in cheek in reply.
