Little Availability CBR and CSR

So about a month ago I was looking at price differences between CBR, CSR, and POR. POR had gone up since last year when I checked and so I had decided we would probably just return to CSR on our upcoming late Nov- early Dec trip. Waiting to hear about free dining before I chose dates.

Was just checking out Nov and Dec and there is now very little availability in CBR and CSR for Nov-Dec. Is this because of the refurb? I figured it might be slightly annoying but didn't know they were closing down a lot of rooms?

If they do free dining, I'm wondering if I will get POR (was offered last year) or if I will have to go value and upgrade to regular DDP. ugh, refurbing both those moderates at same time is rough even though it will be nice when done.

Discounts are offered at resorts that Disney wants to fill. I am going to speculate that there will be very little reason to offer a discount for POR, whether it be RO or FD for POR for a long time.

All of October and November were left it of the FD bounceback last year, so that isn't filling them either.

I suspect FD will attach to Pirate Rooms and $uites.

What will be offered for FD is not something I think we can speculate about at this time. Does anyone have any feedback on why CBR and CSR are sold out a lot of nights in November and December. I looked in May last year and there was plenty of availability for these locations for December 2016. I also looked about a month ago and there were no issues with availability for many dates. Is it pandora opening? Is it refurb? Just curious if anyone knows or can speculate.

Can you say why? Is it because of Pandora or other Mods having limited availability? Last year FD was offered at POR, standard and royal rooms.

Massive construction is one reason rooms will be booked. Also CBR and CSR tend to be the mods that get full benefit of free dinning and not just putting it on the premium rooms that cost more anyways.

With all that said FD may not be need at CBR and CSR if it remains pretty tightly booked. This is the issue with booking if you need free dinning to go. People book thinking they are at least locking in the room but really it is showing Disney people will book the room with out the discounts so they are less likely to give them. With the price raise of DDP this year and all the construction moving people to POR I imagine they may not need free dinning to fill the POR portion of the mods and if it is already showing as booked up they may not even need it at CBR and CSR.

I agree with your sentiments totally. This is why I am not booked yet, because I want free dining to be offered. We will still go without free dining it will be just a slightly different trip. Value 8 days instead of Mod for 10. Restaurants more bang for you buck then best dollar for free dining that sort of thing. Now, I'm starting to worry and wonder if I should go ahead and just book a value and assume I'm not getting free dining. Last year at May there was plenty of availability. I kind of went through the motions last year knowing that this year I would be booking but it isn't feeling the same at all.

It is always best to book the trip you can afford and are comfortable with before hand so you can lock into the room rate if you really want that trip. Imagine if you go to book when FD comes out and there is just nothing left. It does happen and then you are either stuck with out going to Disney or really stretching your budget.

I agree. If I am going, dates are firm, I book. If I am not going without a discount, then I hold off.

OP- I would book your value if you intend to go value if a discount is not offered. You now know you have the room you can be happy with. If a discount is released for the mods, and there is availability for your dates, you are good. If you wait, and you need to choose between Deluxe and deluxe? What do you do?

I agree with both above posters. We have worked out are back up plan this morning and will book shortly. Like I said, I looked at everything last year and thought I knew what times/dates I needed to be moving forward but 2017 is obviously for various reasons going to be different. Will be booking a value today and that is exciting!!

good question??

I think it's because all the construction at those two resorts is affecting capacity. It will be interesting to see what affect this has on discounts/free dining.

A heck of a lot of people from the uk who were staying at CBR have been given upgrades to the Port Orleans resorts as an alternative to the $75 per night credit so I would imagine they are quite full anyway so Disney wouldn't have to offer any really good deals to fill it up.

Just in case anyone checks back.... Booked ASMu so back up plan fully in and kind of excited now!!! hehe.
Last year POR was only offered until sometime in September for FD, no November dates.:sad1: I only remember because I was looking just for POR in November. I am hoping it will be offered this year in November like you but also have my backup reservation I will keep if it is not.:)

The day released at 4am I was able to book at POR, particularly a Royal Suite. I then had to let it go because we couldn't make it. Also, about 30 days after initial release more became available at POR. This was for early December.

I just looked it up because I knew there was no FD at POR in November but I couldn't remember about December. The dfb (The Disney Food Blog) states POR was only available for FD until Oct.01 in 2016. I know the BB had December dates available for December though. I was also up at 4:00 am looking for POR.:)

I just scored CSR on Priceline, with an Express Deal of $111 a night, for SPRING BREAK! I am assuming that something is going on there right now for them to give this away so cheaply, but don't care! I had a 10% code too, so paid $99.90 a night, plus tax. I was shocked it was showing up on there like that.

There should be construction occuring during your stay.
