LISTEN TO "3" NOW!!! Britney Spears's new song, "3" to cause controversy???

Maison is pronounced may-zoh or meh-zoh (sometimes mispronounced as may-son or may-sone) and it means house.

That's correct, but with all the symbolism in the videos and clothing line it's not strange to think it was not a simple mispronunciation.

Jesus would tell you that you are a SLUT! What a trashy song, but it fits her trashy, slutty appearance. Who writes this crap?
Agreed.

This is so disappointing. I thought she was doing a bit better. :sad2:

The lyrics are crass, but not that bad. I'm sure Mary from Peter/Paul/Mary (wasn't that a candy company when I was a kid? Was that blasphemous?) might have objected. But aside from their choosing not to delay the song's release, I don't think you can really hold her death against them.

These kind of lyrics are intentionally crafted for commercial shock value, so as long as you rush to express your indignation, you promote the imminent release of the song on an international bulletin board, and they've won.

It looks like Britney Spears is taking a very long time to grow up. She's pushing 30 and she still has to use smut and controversy to sell her music. I'm not surprised at the lyrics of her new song. Hate them, but not surprised.

I believe it is I who won as I am fan, lol!

As a fan I want her to succeed, but as a realistic fan I think this was an awful idea for a song. It relies on shock and shock alone. Hopefully I am wrong, and when we hear it it will actually sound like something somewhat artistic like Madonna's Express Yourself, but this being Britney and knowing that she didn't have anything to do with the song but lend her voice, I know it will lean towards trashy and not artistic. It's sad that her team is so darn stupid.

People WANT grown up Britney, not slutty, orgy Britney, and this thread proves it. I think she has a natural sexiness, but these lyrics are way too much for me, AND I'M A FAN!

Its worked for Madonna for 2 and a half decades, heck she's what 50 now and her lyrics are still filled with smut. Britney is this generation's Madonna.
Its not about immaturity or a need to grow up, as long as there is a market for this stuff they will deliver it. What sells better than sex and controversy?

Smutty controversial lyrics have been around forever. When you start complaining about them, you've become OLD (tongue firmly in cheek). Seriously though...

My Dingaling
She Bop
You Oughta Know
I Touch Myself
Whole Lotta Love

And on and on...Besides, it hasn't been confirmed if these are the actual lyrics. If they are...WHO CARES? Change the station when the song comes on (like I do when anything by Lady gaga comes on).

Britney has to rely on shock value and controversy to keep herself and her music in the news. Lord knows she can't count on her VOICE. :lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: What do people expect from her anyway......SINGING?!?!?!?!?!

I disagree, I think she can sing and the song and video is typical of the genre today.

:lmao: I'm hardly upset with the fact that you and others are upset about some pop-stars maybe lyrics.
I am confused as to why anyone would really personally be offended by anything a popstar sang in their song, unless you of course are Peter, Paul or Mary which I assume you are not. Like a pp said, if you are secure enough in your faith then why would you let something that someone who didn't believe in your saintly trio say/sing/write bother you at all?

In defense of those offended by the reference to Peter, Paul and Mary. The offense coming from feeling these three have been insulted. Do you not get offended if someone you feel strongly about is insulted? Same thing. No reason to start throwing insults about those with faith.

I have long since ceased being shocked, surprised or offended by anything in any song. I know what dd listens to but I don't censor it. Nor did I censor the music my sons listened to. I talk to her about what is appropriate and what is not. We talk about why the things in a song are right or wrong. And dd and I, as well as my sons and I, have had long discussions about what else a song could mean besides what is assumed. (many of the rap songs my sons liked could have double meanings)
