LISTEN TO "3" NOW!!! Britney Spears's new song, "3" to cause controversy???

:thanks:

Yes, there are those of us who have every right to be offended by the alleged lyrics. Just as much as you have the right to like the song. So no I will not listen to it and if it comes on the radio, I will definitely change the station.

Au Contraire, Mon Bicker. (And how are you this fine Sunday, I might add)

If it was merely an incidence of Ms. Thang touting her own beliefs and values, that would be not only fine but also dandy. BUT, - and it is a big but - she decided to take the beliefs that many hold sacred and defile them for shock value and shock value alone by accusing three saints - and not lesser saints, mind you - of participating in deviant sexual acts. (Please don't repeat your deviant lecture. It would be a rerun.)

Ergo, her fault is assuming that my default would not find fault with her faulty accusations.

Live and let live, I say. As long as your livin' doesn't involve stepping on my toes, talkin' bout my momma, or pickin' on my saints...;)

Is anyone still paying that much attention to Britney's music? I thought she was gaining more notoriety for her personal escapades.

I think the song seems silly, but then again, she is silly so I'm not too surprised.

You are already offended by a song you haven't heard or know if these are even the correct lyrics?
I guess BIcker was right afterall :rolleyes1

It is unsure who she is singing about, because if they are the Biblical Peter Paul and Mary what connects them? Nothing. Peter Paul and Mary have obvious ties to the band. It was obvious that this was suppose to cause controversy within the religious groups just like If U Seek Amy did back in February.

Also, notice the Christina Agulala burn that I bolded at the end of song. Unnecessary.

I personally am more upset about the blatant sex references. This would be one of the most sexually explicit songs on the air, possibly even more so than "Lollypop" and "Candyshop". Both of the previously mentioned use clever metaphors that alude to oral sex, but this song has that PLUS a threesome involving saints or a woman that died of leukemia. So, no it isn't like the other stuff on the radio, it would be top tire!

These were confirmed by her label and by industry insiders, but they could be using this just to hype the song. We'll probably find out tomorrow.

Btw, the song was written by the same person who wrote If U Seek Amy, and Britney didn't write anything on it. She merely was told to put it out as a single. I am not offended by Britney at all, but her label for making her sing such trashy lyircs.

Rather, it takes time and energy to not be offended.

The default human condition seems to be self-motivated, self-driven, self-focused. Sure, there are natural tendencies that expands the locus of what someone considers part of or so wholly associated with their own self (i.e., family and maybe, just maybe, close friends), but generally, humans, like many other animals develop a default "us versus them" stimulus/response scenario.

Some (I would hope perhaps "most") people grow beyond their default perspective, and work to not be offended by other people believing and valuing things that go against their own personal beliefs and values. It is this acceptance of otherness that represents some work, and worthy work IMHO.

You make the assumption that one cares about what Britney Spears (or any other celebrity) has to say.

I don't. I think it does take more energy to care and care enough to actually be offended, to take a personal affront, to what she has to say.

I'm secure enough in my own personal beliefs and values that there isn't anything a has-been teen pop star can say that would offend me.

I can grant that: Indifference is the least amount of work; offense is next; then acceptance.

Btw, I WILL be buying this song from iTunes when it is released on the 6th of October. THe lyrics are so innapporpiate, but there is no doubt I will love the song.

At least this sog dosn't have Satatic refrences like in Jay-Z's RUn THis Town

You must not listen to alot of pop music stations if you think these lyrics are some of the most sexually explicit ones you have ever heard or read.

BTW is that Lady Gaga in your siggy line?

Yep, gotta love the Gaga.

Just Dance - Dance away stress
Poker Face - bi Sexuality
Love Games - intercourse (probably one of the more sexually explicit songs of the year)
Paparazzi - Obsession
Circus - Preforming on stage
Gimmie More - Again, preforming for crowds, though the versed refer to PDA
Piece of Me - Rumors
Radar - Stalking a guy in the club and playing games with him to make him yours
Break the Ice - This song is kinda all over the place lyrically, but it's a 4 on the sexual scale.
If U Seek Amy - One of the more suxual songs of the year. Basically describing a would be orgy, mixed in with trying to find a girl named Amy in the club.
Lollypop - Oral Sex
Candy Shop - Oral Sex
Miles Away - Love only working miles away
Birthday Sex - Idk, sex probably
I Kissed a Girl - Thinking about promiscuity with the same sex.
SexyBack - Bring Sexy back
I Do Not Hook - Want's more than a quick relationship
My Life Would Suck Without You - title says it all

All the ones that are sexual are not nearly as bad as '3'. Please, name one song that would come close.

Notice I said alleged lyrics. I just don't understand, why some would get so upset because others are offended by song lyrics.

:lmao: I'm hardly upset with the fact that you and others are upset about some pop-stars maybe lyrics.
I am confused as to why anyone would really personally be offended by anything a popstar sang in their song, unless you of course are Peter, Paul or Mary which I assume you are not. Like a pp said, if you are secure enough in your faith then why would you let something that someone who didn't believe in your saintly trio say/sing/write bother you at all?

lol...nooooo.

There are several references to his Mason connections in the song and video.

"Yeah I'm in Manson" is a lyric.

Mason or Manson? Surely you're not saying the Masons are Satanic.

I agree.

Being offended by Spears's maybe lyrics implies that what Spears thinks or sings about is actually of value. Sure it may be entertaining or catchy but it isn't like it actually matters.

Spears is a pro-tools studio creation. She didn't write the song and I doubt, at this stage in her career, she has much say in what she records or what is released as singles.

So yeah, I'm not really concerned with some badly written lyrics by a no-name songwriter.

It's Mason, but there are Satanic messages within that. The images of a man with the head of goat is used as will as the raising of a torch Lucifer sign. That's the super creepy stuff.

His Rockafella sign is the all seeing eye, and his clothing line features the symbol too. Though that is more Mason than evil.

No one knows what he is, but he uses so many diffrent symbols and he uses them so consistently that it is more than a mere coincidence.

:rotfl:

No, that's not a lyric. That part goes "I'm in Maison, uh, Martin Margiela" .. Martin Margiela is a fashion designer. Maison Martin Margiela is his clothing line. :thumbsup2

Here are the real lyrics:

No satanic messages. :goodvibes

Yes, that the lyric, it's actually a french word, and the proper pronunciation is Maz-in. In the song he CLEARLY dosn't say Maison, but Mason. Like Britney is saying If U Seek Amy but we all really know what it sounds like. I guess if that is't secret, than this isn't either.

And, no I didn't mean to say that. I'm saying that Jay-Z has used BOTH Satanac and Masonary imagery and lurics in his songs. I thing the first is more for the shock of it, which the second is because he is actually a Mason. However he never has confirmed or denied any of this. Not compairing the two, just both have been used.
