Written by Max Martin, the writer of Baby One More Time and If U Seek Amy, writes another controversial track. What's it about this time? Not a threesome involving certain saints (though Peter Paul and Mary ARE in the lyrics still) as previously though, but a threesome and counting?

I personally like these much more than the pervious ones. The others were just wrong. This may be classic trashy Britney, but at least it's not bringing Jesus into it. I know I'll love it when it comes out, but it's exactly my cup of tea, albeit too trashy for me. I'm sure it will make up for that with it's catchyness! I'm just happy the other lyrics were fake, those were just...

Somehow I thought the lyrics were not referring to the 60's folk music group, but referred to Peter, Paul and Mary Magdalene. But I could be wrong. Either way, I'm sure Christians were offended by Britney plenty before this.

My first thought was Peter, Paul and Mary the singing group and I thought, geez, did one of them just pass away this week? How rude and bad timing for this song to come out this coming week.
She may be referring to Peter, Paul and Mary from the Bible which is also pretty darn low. But God would say that He loves her and she needs to straighten herself out before her time runs out because we just never know how long we've got before we have to answer to Him.

Honestly, Brittany has some really bad issues and her life is a sad shame. Whether she wrote this, worked on it w/ someone else, or just approved of it and sang it, doesn't matter to me. Once she records it, she's handstamped her approval and like many of her other songs, tells us a whole lot about the person she is and the young woman she has become. Very sad to watch these young people these days. They seems to be self-destructing.

What nowadays isn't considered controversial or offends someone or a group of people? I don't think it's any worse than all the stuff that's already on the radio. I wouldn't personally allow my children to listen to it. Unfortunately the school buses have radios and I learned that i can't control what the driver plays. They come home singing all kinds of songs that they don't understand the meaning of.
Somehow i don't think she means the Peter, Paul and Mary singing group.

Sounds to my like just one more anti-normal sentiment flowing out of Hollywood. What on earth is wrong with that whole region anyway? It seems to be a collection of industries based upon self loathing and self congratulation. Don't even get me started on how all the old women over there look like caricatures of human beings because of their alien-like plastic surgery.. too weird. The whole Hollywood thing is off the charts, it's where most music, TV and films come from and it's all become so tired and pathetic.

Mine probably won't be listening to it, because he's not a Britney Fan (he leans more towards blues, heavy metal, and jazz - pop is way down on the list)
This isn't the first song to offend, and I'm sure it won't be the last. And such is the way of music. When I was a teen I became a big Patti Smith and Ramones fan. yeah, many found the lyrics offensive but I found the poetry in it. I still managed to become a responsible contributing member of society. If the only music allowed was those that offended no one, what would we have to listen to?

Personally I am not offended by it and I will listen to it and I am sure my kids will too. They are too young to even understand what it means. We rarely censor music here. If it offended you then she accomplished what she set out to do. She got people talking about her and buzzing about her music. To be honest, I really like Britney. Sure her life is nothing I envy but I like her music.
