I actually think wdw may have a tentative plan to open on 6/8. That’s almost a month from when Shanghai opened & 2 weeks after DS. That’s my newest theory.
I also had a reservation off property at Wyndham Bonnet Creek the 3rd to the 8th. They have cancelled reservations through June 7th so this theory may make sense. I got a refund for that reservation today.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone had a scheduled glow night in June that was actually cancelled on MDE? If they’re still there, might be a sign they were removed from the website for capacity limits instead of actually cancelled.

I have a Pop Century reservation 1 - 8 June and it’s all still there in MDE, room, Fastpasses and dining reservations. We are FL resident Annual Passholsers. No communication on changes or cancellation.

Again, glad so many with nothing at stake feel so free to mock those who are holding out hope for their vacations.

As I said the other day, in which people argued and even continue now to passive aggressively mock the notion that there are many here that have the “If I can’t go, I don’t want anyone to go” mentality and then claim the parks won’t be open until much later in the summer and they’re a “realist” for having that mindset. You need to have at least some basis for your claim(s) to be considered a realist. if I say the parks will open on July 6th, and that’s the day they open, but I have no basis to rely on that date, am I a prophet? Or did I just get lucky?

For my looking at the numbes as they exist today I think early-mid july looks best to open but I'm also not the one deciding and those numbers could change tomorrow or next week and change that opinion either way. Right now trying to project anything 1-2 months out is very very tough which I think is also why you haven't heard any dates from disney. They simply don't know either. They may have a target but that can change day to day or week to week.

I talked to a CM on the phone a little over an hour ago. I realized that somehow the system or I had messed up my oldest daughter’s age for our vacation package reservation. It wouldn’t let me modify on MDE so I called Disney. The CM was very kind but told me there was absolutely nothing she could do to change the age in the reservation right now. She said, “they haven’t sent any cancellation emails yet for June 1st.” Immediately I started asking if she knew If they would or what information she had. She just said, “We are hoping to be open for your reservation dates!” She was very kind about it all, but her tone did not sound hopeful for my dates. But from how she talked it definitely sounded like all hope is not lost for June. Now I’m wishing I didn’t book for June 1-7 and had tried for the middle of June instead. Still hoping that they open, but I’m trying to prepare myself for the disappointment if they don’t. Had just watched the Dis Unplugged today and gotten really excited that it could happen.

they almost assuredly have a date in mind. But they can’t confirm a date, get people’s hopes up just to cancel on them again. Let’s say they do plan to open June 1st. We’re 20 days away. What are you as the guest going to do differently whether they tell you today, or in 14 days? If you haven’t gotten a flight yet, chances are you weren’t going to find something much better today than you would on the 26th. Cancellations will very likely be allowed without penalty. They’d be more welcoming of reducing guests from cancellations than having to worry about getting under a certain amount. Airlines are allowing hassle free cancellations and/or credit. They’re much better off not giving official word until much closer to their opening date goal, like they did with Shanghai. Heck, even Universal came out today with an almost instant reopening of CW.

I do hope you get to keep it, however my May 25 was cancelled Wednesday of last week, so if yours gets cancelled it'll likely happen tomorrow by the evening (my email came about 9:30pm ET)

Agree. Look how many people latched on to an unannounced June 1 date due to them taking reservations for that date still and the recovery offer that started June 1 (and that I think was a bad idea on their part). Even with no announcemnet still got people's hopes up that are still up even though they now are not allowing reservations until July 1. I hope it works out for the people in June but even without naming a date hopes still got up From any scrap of information people could get.

There is just no way disney can announce even a "date we are targeting" without people assuming that is going to be it and get upset if it isn't (which I think is fixing to happen to June 1 people even with no announcement).

Disney is screwed if they say something and screwed if they don't.

I hope so too, but fully prepared either way. I don’t mind being a trail blazer if we get to go. I’ll wear my mask and comply with new procedures. If it’s cancelled I’ll save the money and go another time. It’s all good and It’s not really in my control so there is nothing at this point I can do but wait! 🙃

Exactly. If they announce an official date 20 days out, there’s no going back. It doesn’t matter if every state hit a brand new peak of cases on May 31st, if Disney announced that day that they wouldn’t be able to hold up to the “promise” of a June 1st opening, people would be furious. 7-10 days ahead of time gives people well enough heads up to get ready for their trip. They haven’t cancelled anything in June yet, so don’t cancel because you heard on Disboards that a guy named Fin/Lynn/Sven said they wouldn’t open until June 15th, and come complaining that that wasn’t true and they opened on June 1st. It’s been a nauseating headache on this rollercoaster between “they’re going to open on June 1st, and here’s why” and the next day “oh, they’re definitely not opening until July or August.”If they cancel reservations tomorrow and thursday for the first week of June, great, we get closure. That’s much better than them coming out and saying we’re opening June 1st but on May 25th they have to go back on that and close indefinitely again. Today was one of those days that looks like early June is a real possibility. But that could, and very well might change tomorrow

Yep which is why I think this rolling 7 day window is the best way to go And call it "indefinite closure". Gives them flexibility to open things once it looks safe but no promises.

I have doubts on early June since I'm not sure they would go a full month without any new reservations being allowed but honestly none of us know. We are all speculating And in a time like this nobody really knows if we are not on the disney zoom conference calls.
