I had not been using E-Bates to order my Disney Gift Cards because I could not reliably get credit. I was using MyPoints instead because they were consistent. Then, when I read the reports of people consistently getting credit for their full purchases by adding a cheap, "throwaway" item, I decided to give it a try.

Today, I bought a $200 TARGET gift card and added a $0.79 bottle of hand soap to my order. Within about an hour, I received the notice that I'd earned a $4.02 rebate from E-Bates:goodvibes.

Now, someone chime in and correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this a wicked way to "churn"?:scratchin
...Buy a $100 Target gift card from Raise (i.e.) for, say $97...
...Go through E-Bates and buy a $100 Target gift card and a $0.79 bottle of soap...
...Receive $2 back from E-Bates AND you still have a Target gift card with $99.20 on it...
...So you've MADE $2.20...AND you have a bottle of hand soap:laughing:

My point in starting this thread was to list good, cheap items that you can add to your Target order to get your E-Bates credit.

Here's the link to the hand soap...

I wouldn't call them throw away items. I usually need SOMETHING. My kids grow like weeds so a pair of $8 jeans or a clearance shirt for $3 etc. will be used in the near future. I've bought a Halloween decoration for about $3. Sometimes the item doesn't add up to the Ebates cash back but I'd have bought the item with or without the Ebates cash back. I'm surprised the hand soap qualified- household essentials don't typically qualify for cash back. Good to know!

Thanks for the hand soap link! I typically was buying placemats or a pair of clearance socks but everything that I was buying is no longer available for shipping.

I bought a 3 pack of scotch tape $2.99 and got credited the full amount, tape up ended up being free. Who doesn't need more scotch tape in their lives?
So true! No matter how many rolls I buy, I never can seem to find any when I need to wrap something. Thanks for the suggestion!

Just discovered Up & Up Wood Ruler for 0.25

Edited to add: As we add "throw away" items to our orders, please consider "changing it up," so we're not ALL ordering rulers (or hand soap or erasers, etc.). We don't want to bring too much attention to how we're getting cash back from ebates for mostly gift cards...just something to consider...thanks...

That sounds like a lot of hassle for $2
It's not always $2. It's currently 2% of the total order. So, when I ordered a $300 Target GC plus the 25¢ ruler yesterday for $270.24, my ebate was $5.40. When I buy Disney GCs with that $300 Target GC and add another ruler (total = $285.24), my ebate will be another $5.70. That's over $11 back, IN CASH, for adding a small item to my order. To me, that's certainly worth it, especially when you consider that I will probably repeat this process multiple times before I have the number of Disney GCs that I need for my trip or to pay my DVC dues.

I made two orders today and added a $0.25 ruler to my first order and a $0.49 eraser (thanks for that) to my second. My first order got me cash back of $9.50 and the second got me $9.51.

With two small kids these items will definitely get used, and I come out ahead $9+ on each transaction.

:sad1: i am only getting $1.91 Ebates cashback for an order of $300 GC plus a $0.74 envelope ? Does that seem right?

Can one use Swagbucks and Ebates for the same purchase? I opened an Ebates acct, but am confused by it.
