Is there a list anywhere in DIS that has the local pharmacies and hospitals near WDW? My mom is a severe diabetic and also highly allergic to bees. I would like to have a list in case we have any problems with her insulin or epikit.

Thanks!

There are Walgreen's and Eckerd's nearby. Insulin except humalog and syringes are not prescription so if she needs these you should not have a problem. There is Celebration Hopital in Celebration if needed plus a regional medical center nearby, There are also walk-in clinics near Disney property.
I would still bring what ever medications she uses plus extra of them just in case.
For me it is easy as I just go to a Walgreen's and they can check my scripts since I use one here and they are interconnected via computer.
All diabetes is serious whether diet, oral or insulin controlled. Is she well controlled? If so you should not have a worry.

She is a controlled insulin dependant diabetic. I did a little hunting earlier- she uses CVS pharmacy up here in CT and I found out that there is one just a little ways up from our hotel on W. Irlo. We are going to make sure she has plenty of everthing that she needs with us but I just wanted to make sure that there was a pharmacy close by just in case. She's not worried about it but I am the anal-retentive vacation planner and have to have all my little ducks in a row! :D

Thanks for your info - I will put those down in my little blue Disney book too! :)

Cyn,
Don't worry. My dh and dd are anal about making sure I have all my meds plus a few extra doses for a trip. It is normal. Me, no big deal, it's life.

I think we're all a little that way. I had several duplicate pill bottles for each medication in different places (in case one got lost or my purse got stolen or something). Plus I had enough pills for a month, not just the week we were gone.
Sometimes it helps just to know that you have all your ducks in a row.

In addition to being prepared, each of the parks has a first aid station which always has an RN on duty. Also "Reedy Creek Emergency Services" has excellent response times for rescue squad or ambulance needs. They have several locations on property and can get to any of the parks or hotels very quickly.

And if you can't get to first aid in the parks, first aid can come to you. CMs have ways to call first aid to come to any location in the park.
We spent some time in first aid at MK in March due to my DD having a seizure. There were at least 3 medical CMs there at all times. I don't know if they were all RNs, but at least some were.
That's a good point about the emergency response in the hotels. Several people have psoted that EMS was called for them for various reasons and they were impressed with the quick response from the front desk and how quickly assistance arrived.
