My husband and I will be traveling in September with our 3 year old son. I will be about 5 months pregnant (19th trip to the world, 1st trip there pregnant) and I wondered if anyone had any info or could point me in the right direction for a list of rides that are OK to go on when you're pregnant?

Does the Birnbaum guide provide this?

I've heard even Kilmanjaro Safari is off limits! I hope not - it's bad enough I have to miss Space Mountain :-) (but sure worth it!)

As I can recall, every attraction had a sign that suggests pregnant women, people with health issues, etc. take precautions. I guess you can physcially take a look at the attraction or read up on attraction descriptions and figure out which ones are not for you.

I went through my Birnbaum's and they make no reference to expectant mothers and which rides are restricted.

I couldn't find any info in my Passporter either.

**The Unofficial Guide (pages 300-302) does a good job of listing which attractions are restricted for expectant mothers. They also have several good tips too.**

THIS IS THE NOT OK TO RIDE LIST!
MK= Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Mad Tea Party (may be OK), Space Mountain and Indy Speedway

Epcot= Body Wars. Test Track and Mission Space.

MGM= Tower of Terror, Star Tours, Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Backlot Tour (due to Catastrophe Canyon)

AK= Dinosaur, Primeval Whirl, and Kali River Rapids (may be OK)
They didn't add the Safari to this list, but it is a bumpy ride.

TL & BB= all slides

I went to WDW at both 8 weeks and 6 months pregnant. Pretty much any ride with a height requirement is off-limits. The Safari ride is like a bumpy car ride. (My OB said she went on it at 7 months) I went on the tea cups without a problem. I also went on the Indy Speedway, but that was with someone I knew behind me who I knew wouldn't bump me.

Enjoy!

Regarding KS, if you are concerned about the bumpiness, ask the CM for a seat in front. The front is MUCH less bumpy than the back!! The first 4 times we rode it, we were always in the first or second row. I actually mentioned to DH that I thought the health warnings were really overkill. The 5th time we rode it, we were in the second to last row, and I could not believe the difference! We were bouncing all over the place!

Great info - thanks everyone!

I'll see how I'm feeling and, if everything is OK, I'll request a front seat for KS!

Thanks again!

My Ob said to use my judgement. If I wouldn't take my 3 yo on a ride, I shouldn't go on it.

Here's some great Tips of Expectant mom's

I went when I was 8 weeks pg. I did the safari ride, but like the pp said, request a front row seat and it will be less bumpy. If I didn't feel "safe" about it, I didn't go. I'd rather miss a ride, than risk my baby.

People have many different opinions on this one. I went to WDW when I was 8 or 9 weeks pregnant. My OB is a disney fan and she said that Splash and the Safari would be ok for me. I did Splash 2X and did not do Safari--if you do request the front row as others have said. I felt fine on most rides--didn't do any of the spinning rides as I had morning sickness and did not do any of the fast ones except Splash. Have a great trip!
