Is there a thread that lists all of the benefits of DVC ownership? such as $100 off of the annual pass rate. Thank you in advance for your help.

All perks and benefits are subject to change.

Shopping discounts change often, usually there is a shop or two at DtD that give 10% off, like the shop that sells the bath bombs.

There are dining discounts, most are in the 10% range, and are offered only at lunch time or during the week. There are a few 20% discounts, and occasionally a 30% discount, though none currently that I am aware of.

Behind the scenes tours and diving at EPCOT also offer discounts, but again they can change.

There are discounts for water parks, Disney Quest and Pleasure Island, most are in the $4 range.

There are sometimes discounts for Cirque du Soleil La Nouba.

Free valet parking (be sure to tip) is available at the DVC resort that offer valet parking.

A 25% discount of rack rate when booking DVC rooms for cash through MS, but it isn't always available.

And of course the $100 AP and $125 PP discounts for adults, there is a slightly smaller discount on childrens APs.

The members website give a list of discounts, but it isn't always complete or up-to-date.

In addition, you get to reserve whatever size unit you want or have the points for and for however many days you want and have the points for. There is no set time length or dates you must travel.

You can exchange through Interval International if you choose to destinations around the world.

You can book your home resort at 11 months ahead of the travel, or other DVC resorts at 7 months ahead of travel.

You get all the on-site benefits that anyone staying at WDW resorts get.

You will have up to 50 years of pre-paid vacation accommodations.

Sometimes we get discounts on hard ticket events.

Not an offical perk but you get to be totally obsessed about WDW and that leads to point hoarding and multiple trips per year. Personally I am obsessed with making my points astretch as far as possible.

Here is a question, what is the situation with parking at the theme parks?

Is that free like for the “resort” guests?

If you are staying at a DVC resort, theme park parking is free, just like any other onsite guest. But you can not stay offsite and get free theme park parking with your DVC card. The parking isn't a DVC perk, it is an onsite perk.

There is a DVC discount for Pirate and Princess Party. We paid a little over $40.

I take it you show your resort "key" when parking or how does it work?

It works just like every other guest staying in a Disney hotel - when you check in, you get a printed pass that gets you free parking in the lots.

If you are considering DVC for the perks, that's not a good idea. Perks and discounts come and go at Disney's whim. The only thing that's really guaranteed are the accomodations.
