March 14, 2004 (Sunday) Day 105 on the Beach
I am so proud of myself! I made the absolute best shrimp alfredo for dinner tonight. It was so good I could not stop eating it. I actually had to force myself to stop because I was getting that uncomfortably full feeling. Did I mention my alfredo sauce was good?
I got the recipe from the lowcarbfriends site and made it last Sunday for dinner and it was just okay. I realized the mistake I made and corrected it and boy, oh boy, was that stuff good. Can't wait to make it again next week! If anyone would like the recipe for the alfredo sauce, just let me know and I'll post it. I bought the whole wheat linguini noodles and DH and I both agreed that they tasted just like the egg noodle variety.
I went shopping with DH for new suits because his have gotten so baggy they are starting to look ridiculous. He picked out two nice ones - one a sand beige and other a classic black. He will look dashing this spring! Like most women, I've got clothes in my closet in several sizes so I won't be needing too many new things until I get down to normal size and I'm fine with that. I think they will hear it as the shout heard "round the world" when I can get myself into a size 12 anything!
Here's today's menu:
B: 1/2 bowl of ww flakes with 1% milk, 2 scrambled eggs with a slice of lf sharp cheddar cheese and 3 slices of bacon
S: no snacks today
L: 2 very salty tasting double cheeseburgers (no buns of course) from McD's (yucky and not worth the $2) and a diet soda
D: shrimp alfredo over whole wheat pasta and 1/2 cup of no sugar added ice cream for dessert
Exercise/Water Gauge:
I did FIRM BSS1 ab sculpt this morning. Usually toward the end of the work out, my legs get real tired but that didn't happen this time. Yea me! Water was a 4.5. It's hard on the weekends.
That's a wrap for Sunday!
Desiree - thanks for the vote of confidence. I have never lost 40 pounds before. I almost don't know how to act! I do appreciate the weight loss has slowed down a bit and I'm actually happy about it. I need some time to adjust to this new person emerging from within me (sounds sappy I know). But I would hate to wake up one day "skinny" and have to deal with all the emotional issues that would come. Slow and steady gives my mind a chance to acknowledge what's going on and I don't get so scared of taking off the weight this way.
Marcia - thanks for stopping by and giving me some encouragement. I always appreciate it when you can pay me a visit. I could probably lose a little bit faster if I totally cut out some of the things I've chosen to eat but they are on plan and frankly, I don't wan to cut them out so I'm fine with my 1 pound per week (for now). Take care and I hope you have a great afternoon!
