linking to MDE

Hello again! I never knew I had so many disney questions! today's is this... We're all booked for July 2016 and I've downloaded the disney experience app. But I don't seem to be able to link the two. I know I'm too early for fast passes etc but how do I add my reservation? I can only see a bit to add my magic bands but we don't get them till we arrive. can anyone help?

I have always had problems linking anything on the app so always originally link everything up through the website and then use the app while I'm away to make any tweaks that are needed. I'm not sure if anyone else has the same problem but I find the app a bit sticky sometimes.

Another thing to try might be emailing disneytraveluk@disneyonline.com for your American reference number and try linking through that - I had to do that a couple of years ago.

I could never get my reservation to link to MDE with the UK reference number. I had to email the address above and they sorted it out for me very quickly. By the time I emailed I was only 7 months out though as last year some people were told that it would take a while to link so I spent months patiently waiting for it to work.
 
Try the website to link your resort reservation it generally better behaved :thumbsup2
 

Very easy on the website just put holiday reference and last name in and it was all linked up . With Virgin tho so might be different with other holiday company's
 
Thanks for all the replies! It's crazy, I'm a disney veteran having had numerous trips but having not been since 2010 all this fast pass plus and bands is all new! I just want to get everything right! I've managed to phone up and register on the site but for some reason it only seems to think 3 of our party of 5 are going! I'll phone up another time and sort it. I miss being able to turn up and walk into a restaurant and sit down!
 
I couldn't link my reservation until about 200 days out. Every time Itried it would tell me it didn't exist, then not too long before dining reservations were due I tried again with the thought process that if it didn't work this time, I'd have to call and suddenly it worked! I don't know if it was because i was 'too early' for the system or?

Was this the 7 digit number booking ref?

I'm hearing some people say it's a 16 digit number ( or something like that )
 
You might need the U.S. Reservation number. I've just posted on another thread that I email Disney to request the U.S. Number, they emailed it to me and worked straight away, we are 432 days out and it linked everything.
The number is a mixture of letters and number eg ABCD1234

I emailed Disney as I was having the same problem. "Booked with Disney for Tickets and OKW stay Sep 2016" but was told I would just have to wait and keep trying my invoice number. Seems odd that people are saying the code contains letters etc. Now I am really confused!!!!!
 
Why don't you give the UK phone number a ring. They was super helpful with me and told me if my ref doesn't work by end of July to call them back and they will give me a new one.

I have read elsewhere that people have been told by Disney that MDE won't link until 11 months out.

I booked with Orlando Attractions on Monday of this week and was able to link everything up on Friday. Wasn't able to before then (couldn't find the reservation) so there can also be a delay after you've booked.

I was told by Virgin that my reference wouldn't work until 10 or 11 months out. But when I called Disney they told me that they don't load them on their system until 16 months out, then they said about my reference.

I have heard so many different stories too, so I can't wait until the end of July to see if I can link my holiday and what happens if it won't :headache:
 
Never mind 10 months, I'm 180 days out and it still won't work. Used the contact form and was told to give them a call, phoned up and was told it's not in the system yet and to just keep trying.

I guess I'll try phoning again to see if a different person gives me a better answer.
 
Oh that doesn't give me much confidence! I would definitely try calling and hoping for someone a bit more helpful.

Isn't it 180 days out that you can start making reservations etc?

Contact form is on the US website
If you've booked on the UK website and can't link it's because it's not in the US system in the first place. So using the contact form won't help (nor will phoning the number provided in their reply)

If you've booked on the uk site then contact the uk not the us

As per several guests who had similar problems, disney uk will answer that a reservation should link before 200 days out and they will issue an alternate number if it hasn't linked by then ( doesn't mean that a CM won't adress the issue before that, as always policies will vary depending on the CM you talk to)

Is anyone already linked on MDE for travel in November 2016?

We don't go till dec16 I was told by Disney that it will link 20 Aug something to do with arrival date being 520days away. Waiting game I guess
 
I managed to link my hotel reservation last night :jumping1:.

I tried yesterday lunchtime with no luck and just by the off chance I tried again last night and it worked. I couldn't believe it!

I have customised our MB :cool1:

One thing though...when do our theme park tickets show up on the account? We bought them as a package to enable DDP and that is showing on the account.
