Linking Rooms Question

I need some help with any experience you have with linking rooms. I am looking to make a reservation for a studio on a Saturday night for my family to stay in. My in-laws are coming Sunday and we will all be in a 2 bedroom for the rest of the vacation. I am not interested in checking out of our studio on Sunday; I would rather just have the 1 bedroom that is a lockoff from the studio become our room when it is available, giving us our 2 bedroom. Any luck doing this?

Thanks!
Heidi

You can request that arrangement but the resort is under no obligation to meet the request. Basically you won't know until you get to the front desk whether they can keep you in the same room for the entire time.

Make sure both reservations are in the same name. When you check in on Sat, ask to see if you are blocked into the same room for the next reservation. If you get there early enough on Sat, you may get lucky.

You have to request a lock off for both reservations as well. Have the reservation number of each noted on the other.

Are you staying in the studio portion of the two bedroom when the inlaws arrive or are you getting the master bedroom?

Thanks for the tips, though it doesn't sound promising. It really is just a pain in the buns to change rooms. I will call DVC tomorrow to see what they say (are they open on Sunday yet? I know it is soon.) and I will post what I find on here in case others are curious as well.

We will be getting the 1 bedroom portion :) Plus, we have 2 kids that will be 3 and 1 and a half at the time, so that justifies it EVEN more. :) :)

Thanks everyone!
Heidi

You will have to check out and in again no matter what but they may be able to allow you to keep the same room. The reservation for the studio will be separate from the 2 BR. If you do as others have suggested you may be lucky.

Agree with all of the above. The 2 BR you have must be a lockoff to do what you desire, if it's dedicate you can't do this but might be able to change it. You could book the 2 BR (same unit type) for the extra night and not have to change rooms but this risk is the price for saving those points.
