I have 2 reservations for my upcoming trip one is for room only other is a package. I have been assured 3 or 4 times when I have called disney for various reasons that my ressies are linked and will not have to change rooms.

However, i would just like to send a fax just to be sure. I have seen people talk about doing this before but can't remember who I fax is it disney reservations or do I fax the resort I am staying at.

Thank you for any assistance

KIM

Since they don't look at faxes for room requests anymore you would simply be wasting your time- if it is linked in the computer system then you have the best possibility of staying in the same room- the other thing you can do is to remind them when you check in that you have linked reservations.

Room request faxes aren't accepted any more, so I wouldn't recommend doing that. But even if they were, if you've been told 3 or 4 times that the reservations are linked, sending a fax wouldn't accomplish anything. You've requested that the reservations be linked, they've linked them, you're all set. :thumbsup2

What you can do is mention to the front desk CM when you check in for the first reservation that you're doing a continuing stay, and they can likely confirm for you that you'll be able to keep your room.

We have done this a number of times and have never had to change rooms. As long as the category of the rooms for the two reservations are the same, it makes no sense for Disney to make you change rooms. Make sure you tell them when you check in for the first part of the stay that you have a second reservation. You will need to check out and check back in for the second stay, but you should not need to change your room.

We did this a few years ago - had 2 separate ressies due to a package promo ending & a new one starting during our stay - and we had to change rooms! I do see why though - when we checked in for the 1st ressie (they were linked), they gave us a comp upgrade to be higher category - which of course I jumped on, not thinking how it would affect the 2nd ressie. I was so excited for the upgrade I wasn't thinking. When it came time to start the 2nd ressie, that higher category was sold out, so we had to move back down to the originally booked category.

So the moral of the story is - if they offer you a comp upgrade when you check-in - be forewarned that you may have to move mid-stay!

When you check in for the first ressie, tell the CM that you have a continuing reservation and would like to keep the same room if possible. I agree that is makes no sense for Disney to change your room if the category is the same for both reservations, but keep in mind that it can happen. I have read reports that people have had to change rooms even when the same room type was booked. Your chances are probably slim that you will have to move, but I would be prepared to move just in case it does happen.
