Linking reservation from 3rd Party booking site ... affect ADRs?

I'm coming up on my date to book ADRs (next week) for a stay I booked through Disney. I just noticed I can get the same stay a few hundred dollars cheaper if I rebook through Expedia because I have a discount code.

My concern is, if I cancel the existing reservation and book through Expedia, will I be able to enter my new itinerary soon enough into MDE to take advantage of the same ADR reservation date? (Today is Friday and my ADR date according to Disney is this upcoming Tuesday, Feb 4).

I'd appreciate hearing from anyone who's done this before.

Thanks!

ADR’s are not linked to a hotel stay. You can make ADR’s even if you don’t have an onsite reservation. So changing your reservation will have no affect on your ADR’s.

While everyone can book an ADR at 180 days out, a WDW resort reservation does allow one to book at 180 days out + length of stay (up to 10 days), hence the OP’s concern with an Expedia-based reservation properly linking to MDE.

OP, I’m sorry, I don’t have experience with Expedia. I’m sure others will be around to assist.

You have a valid concern as sometimes it takes a few days to link 3rd party reservations. Your best bet would be to book the Expedia reservation and then once it is linked and showing up in MDE, then cancel your original reservation.
