Linked Night at same resort and Magicbands?

The week I wanted at BLT was booked so I have been booking it a day at a time as it becomes available and then I will link them all together before arrival. Will I need to check in everyday as if it was a new reservation? Or will my MB work the entire time to open my room?

Don't link the reservations on MDE until you're all set. If you have a few consecutive days but separate reservations, email or call MS to have them combined under 1 reservation number. Sometimes they do it automatically. This assumes same room & category.

If you have separate reservations, you'll end up with a set of MB for each. I'd recommend taking every set just incase. Theoretically 1 MB should work for all reservations on MDE. That was not our case last year.

We stayed at BLT in January on 3 linked reservations... what a pain! I knew I would have to check in for each one, not a big deal, but all the magic bands in our party also had to be reactivated. Make sure they test them before you leave the desk. One morning I spend almost 2 hours going back and forth between the desk and my room trying to get the activation transferred on our 3 magic bands... mine they had to recode twice because it wouldn't open the room... DD and DSIL had even bigger issues... it was not fun

After the fiasco with the magic bands, I swore I would never cobble a vacation together again with linked reservations!

That is not what I want to hear. We have 3 sets of Magic bands due to our reservations.

In January our 4 reservations were just fine, using MBs interchangeably. 2 DVC resorts and 2 Value resorts. They only ever needed to see one MB, didn't matter which one, and they all worked fine.

Glitches happen, and you can't really do anything to avoid that. But the system is *supposed to* work fine with various MBs (and I was using 6, total, just for myself (DS had 5) depending on what I wanted to wear that day). A glitch can happen even if you're just using one MB.
