OK so Friday will be our official 60 Days mark, so here is a little something to celebrate!
My Top 10 Favorite Disney Movies
(in no particular order, of course!)
- The Lion King
Naturally

I only had Simba tattooed on my body....
- Robin Hood
I admit, I had a mega crush on Robin Hood as a kid. And yes, I mean Disney's Robin Hood...as in the fox.
- The Rescuers Down Under
Not crazy about the first Rescuers movie but the 2nd one is amazing.
- 101 Dalmatians
Me and my brother used to crack up at this movie when were little. Making fun of a crazy old bat like Cruella DeVille was the thing to do. And it was especially funny when our mom would get really mad and we would start cracking up because she reminded us of Cruella.
- The Jungle Book
This is even my dad's favorite Disney movie. Sher Khan is my favorite Disney villain and some of the greatest Disney songs out there have come from this movie (see my previous list!)
- The Little Mermaid
My sister, my cousin, and I used to pretend to be mermaids in the swimming pool after this movie came out. We planned to have my grandmother make us costumes so that we could put on a live production of the movie. I used to fall asleep to the soundtrack playing on my Playskool tape player (yes, the one with the microphone that makes and appearance in Toy Story).
- Lilo & Stitch
A lot of people find Stitch annoying. I find him impossibly adorable....and this movie has a really good message, too
- Hercules
Another one with a great message and great songs
- Pirates of the Caribbean
Yes it's 3 movies and I'm lumping them all into one spot. Technically, I think the 3rd one is my favorite, but the whole trilogy was just such a great concept. Lumar and I actually purchased one of the big PotC art books in WDW a couple years ago and I still flip through it every once in a while.
- Dumbo
Horrifically sad. The part where he visits his mother when she is locked up even makes my brother and Lumar cry (although they'll tell you they had an eyelash in their eyes...

). But it's just such a beautiful movie with another really good message behind it...and it's a classic
Honorable Mentions:
- The Great Mouse Detective
Hardly anyone I know has seen this movie but I was obsessed with it when I was little.
- The Fox and The Hound
Adorable but another sad one...what is with Disney, seriously??

It's funny because when I was little and watched these movies, I had no idea how sad they were. As an adult when I go back and watch them, I'm like "what the....??"

And for the record, I cried almost inconsolably when we watched Lady & The Tramp a few weeks ago during the scene at the pound. Remember, I am an animal rescue volunteer! The dang Shelter Dogs commercials that Pedigree runs make me cry. I bawled during that scene in the movie when all those little puppy faces were crying. It made me want to go to the pound and adopt every dog in there.
