Yes, we are planning to go on 10/19 after we arrive (our flight lands at about 2:15pm so we should have plenty of time) and again on 10/26. That will be our "day off." We tried this method last year and it worked out pretty well.... we did not dress up for the first party...just used that night to watch the parade and the fireworks, do some trick or treating, and ride rides... and then at the 2nd party, we wore costumes, met characters, and did more trick or treating.

I am enjoying your PTR, I just started one as well, you sound like me. I plan and then re-plan....Maybe Trex will have a walk up that day. We are taking the kids there as well for our September trip.

Hey thanks for joining me! And welcome to the DIS!

I actually was able to book a ressie at 5:30pm for T-Rex by calling them directly! So I'm happy and all is right in The World.

Now if my brother could find a job that actually PAYS HIM

We did make another payment today towards our part of the trip! Only another $80 left, which will get made on Friday. Then we just have to buy our MNSSHP tix. And of course, Mike still owes almost his whole trip, plus his MNHSSP tix....He really needs a job. FAST.

Well I don't really have anything to report on...I'm honestly just bored out of my mind. I came down with a head cold so I'm feeling all cloudy and congested, and I have a doctor's appointment at 10am tomorrow and it's now 20 minutes to midnight but I took a 2 hour nap earlier so I'm not quite tired yet.

I'm so glad I have tomorrow off from work! We are going to see wrestling tomorrow night (Lumar is a HUGE wrestling fanatic), and between that and my appointment, I thought it was best to just take the whole day off. Of course, this depletes the last of my paid time off and I have to just keep saving it now otherwise I won't have enough for our vacation.

Still no word from Mike on his job situation. Which means still no word on how he's gonna come up with his half of the rent money which is due on 7/1. My mom ended up giving us $1000 to cover the money he owed us for May and June, but I spoke to her today about July and I don't think she is willing/able to cover for him again for July. My sister is in law school and she doesn't get any money from her student loans for June or July. She won't get any more money until August so my mom usually contributes towards her bills over the summer. Obviously she wouldn't be able to pay my sister's rent and my brother's. I'm just really nervous right now. I literally have 27 cents in my checking account and Lumar has $35 which is enough to fill up our gas tank once this week. I'm starting to think about that part time job again.... I will be completely exhausted, but I don't know if I'm going to really have a choice in the matter.

We actually rolled some spare change today and came up with $55 so that will help in a pinch I guess. We usually apply our rolled change towards our Disney spending money but....you do what you gotta do!

In the meantime, I'm just trying to pray and remain positive that everything will work out, in one way or another. I do still really want Mike to come to Disney with us...BUT if he doesn't come then I can go horseback riding like I want to (Mike vetoed horseback riding in favor of mini-golf), and I can drop our Nine Dragons ressie in favor of eating at the F & W Festival. Not that I don't love me some Nine Dragons...but I'm really looking forward to the Festival!

So I guess it's time for me to take some Tylenol PM and get to bed. I have a ton of cleaning to do tomorrow in the midst of everything else. Good thing the dog likes to get me up early

He does, but he's lazy. That's the kind of job that I want! I will suggest it to him though...anything is better than nothing and he could be helping out others at the same time. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hope you're feeling better and enjoying the day off!! I just had a cold last week and it was so annoying, it's so weird to be sick when it's 90 degrees out!

Sorry to hear about the money problems, I know how that is, I've been contemplating a second job for months...but I'm so tired when I get out of work now, there's no way I can even imagine going to work again after I get out! But I might have to do it for a little while, even if it's just 2 nights a week or so. We'll see!

So I got the chance to talk to Mike last night about his financial situation. It doesn't sound as terrible as I thought it was...I mean it's still bad but...

1) he is still waiting for the military to pay him $2000 that he is owed for the 3 weeks he spent in AZ in May. He said he has been in contact with a few of the other guys from his platoon, including the platoon leader and he found out that NO ONE has been paid. So they called around, slowly making their way up the chain of command and the latest intel is that all of the paperwork they filled out when the first arrived in AZ has been "misplaced." So they now have an entire platoon of Marines waiting to receive about $2000 each...and they've been waiting for it since May.

2) he told me that work is picking up, probably since the weather is finally getting warm....however the payroll is usually about 3-4 weeks behind. The reason for this is that the employees do a repair job on a car, then they submit the paperwork to corporate. Corporate then submits it to the customer's insurance company, the insurance company reimburses corporate, and then corporate can actually pay the employees.

So he said he's getting money...he's just not sure when. He's afraid that the military is going to wait until his next drill in August to have them fill out the paperwork again which means more waiting for his 2 grand until September.

In other news, I'm still sick and feel horrible but there's only 118 more days til we leave!!

I'm going through serious planning withdrawal! I'm so bored at work that I keep defaulting to the Disney website but then I want change things! I keep trying finagle a way to stay at AKL and it's just not going to happen!

One of our rabbits, Sam, passed away unexpectedly today...he was only about 5 years old which is considered still young. We left for work this morning and he was perfectly fine and came home to find him barely clinging to life. He passed away in the car on the way to the emergency vet. All the other animals in our seem to know...it's very quiet here tonight (which is a quite a feat since Psycho Dog joined our clan!). It's 11:50pm...we have to get up for work in the morning but neither of us wants to go to sleep. Sam used to sleep next to our bed. Of course I would rather mourn the loss of a pet than live life without them. We are both just really heartbroken tonight.

Thanks, Jordy. It's strange because my sister adopted a rabbit about the same time that we adopted Sam....both being last June. Her rabbit passed last week, and now Sam went yesterday. Very strange...

I am so sorry...it is hard to lose pets. You are right though, they bring such joy that I wouldn't give that up either...but the pain when they pass still sucks.

ITA! It's hard to lose them but even harder to not have had them at all. Life was very lonely for me when I was between pets. Last night was very difficult for us...but today is a new day. I just keep forcing myself to think about how peaceful it is where he's at now.

I've been volunteering for a rescue for about 5 years now and I always take my 18lb Flemish Giant with me to fundraisers. People are amazed/shocked at how dog-like they can be.

I'm very jealous of your 88 days! 115 for us! I wish I had something to PLAN!!!
