Thanks! I got it from Avon!

Yes I'm still here....20 minutes later! And now I'm REALLY going to bed! LOL

Avon? Seriously? I wish someone I know sold Avon! We are headed to New Orleans to the Disney Store tomorrow. Pray I don't spend all my money saved for our Disney trip in 22 days:lmao:

Hey there, I thought i would read along. I have never done a PTR...but have been thinking about it. I fear I would feel just as you..as though I were only writing to myself.

Anyway, have to say...I love the bag. My first thought also was Avon? Now I have to go and look at their online site. Is it available there? Just today, I saw a bag similar to yours in a store but thought my trip is far enough out I have time to find and purchase one. Yours is way cuter than the one I saw today.

And of course, your puppy is so darn cute!

Hi! I'm subbing! I love that bag! :thumbsup2 We are leaving for our trip the day after Christmas, and I have my fingers crossed that I will get the D&B Disney Sketch wristlet I have been bugging DH about for Christmas so I can take it on our trip!

Your ADRs look good! We did MNSSHP in 2008 and I loved it!!

I love your puppy! Sooo cute! :lovestruc

Can't wait to read more!!

I feel that way alot with my PTR, but I find it helps me plan more! If you start a PTR, let me know! I will definitely read!

Seriously! LOL My step-mom is an Avon Rep. so I spend kajillions of dollars on Avon annually. It's weird though because some of their stuff will be around, literally, FOREVER and some of it will show up in one catalog and never be seen again. I'm looking at the most current brochures and I do not see the bag in there, and I don't see it on the website either... Like I said, sometimes things will be around forever and sometimes they disappear quickly!

Have fun in NO at the Disney Store! We have one here in CT (but it's like 45 minutes away from me) and they actually had a World of Disney Store in NYC which we used to go to frequently but it closed last year and won't reopen until later this year...sometime during the fall! The way I always saved money was by convincing myself that I could buy the same things IN Disney World...and I would rather have it straight from Florida!

Welcome! Thank you so much for stopping by (and for the compliments on my bag and my baby!)!! See above for info on the bag :)

Welcome!! Thank you for joining! I also want a D & B Disney Sketch but I want one of the bags. Wristlets aren't big enough for me! I would lose it, for one thing, and for another it's just not big enough to carry my entire life around in! :rotfl:

And thank you, I love her too! She is absolutely INSANE (she just turned 5 months old) but she overall, she is a really good girl!

I agree! A lot of it is just so that I can "talk out" my plans with someone... Lumar loves Disney as much as I do but when it comes to planning he is pretty much just the "smile and nod" type. "Whatever I want to do it fine" is the only thing he ever replies with. Which works out GREAT for the most part...but sometimes I really need an objective opinion!

I also will definitely jump over to read if you start one!

That is awesome! And not sure we are doing the Disney Store today after all. My MIL took my middle child for the weekend & I get a comment on my Facebook saying he is running a fever, wheezing, coughing etc. So looks like those plans are shot. My DH is on his way to get him now because my SIL is 10 weeks preggo & she can't be around him sick.

Hahaha! Lumar sounds like Ben. It's just pretty much "whatever you want to do" or "we will see when we get there" and I need to KNOW what I will do! And others input helps out alot!

Awww! I hope Brady feels better soon! And congrats to your SIL!

We're big animal people too.

Yay, that no ADR thing might have changed without DH knowing quite yet. :rolleyes1 I'll have to update about that soon. Haha.

LOVE the bag!!

Welcome!! And THANK YOU for the tips!! I have never been to the Westchester Airport and never even knew it existed until a friend of mine from work mentioned that she was flying out of there for her trip to Florida! We are definitely getting a ride there, and I think I will just rent a car to get us home on the 29th...We only live about and hour and a half away, and I can't find a ride home... There don't seem to be any shuttles that run from that airport to CT...and I'm having trouble finding a good deal on a limo. So I'm still working on the trip home. But my mom will be dropping us off on the 19th, we have a direct flight and it leaves at like 11:30 or something but I will definitely make a note in my Passporter to bring snacks for the airport!

I will absolutely hop over to you TR and PTR this weekend!

Oooh and CONGRATS on your marriage!!!!

I didn't know it existed either until my friend told me about it and that Jet Blue flies out of there...my DH for some reason had this obsession with trying Jet Blue and my friend really liked the airport, so I figured we would try it! It was a good experience, except for the parking fee :scared1: and I'm not a big fan of how you get your bags...they have 1 carousel for baggage claim. If 2 flights get in at the same time, they just throw all the bags on there and you have to just sift through them all and find yours. It's kind of annoying, but then again, it is a tiny airport! :confused3

I love your Mickey bag, I totally have to get a Disney purse for my trip in November! I want one of the Dooney and Burke bags sooooo bad!

I love that you and your DBF volunteer and clean bunny cages, I love bunnies! That's such a nice thing to do! :cool1:

joining in! popcorn::

LOVE the bag!!

Yay for animal-people! :rotfl: Lumar gets mad because he says I kiss the dog more than I kiss him :rolleyes1

You should definitely make some ADR's and just not tell him about it until you get there. He will get sick of QS....well..quickly! :rotfl2: When we first started going to Disney, we were completely clueless. Let me say, that eating chicken strips and pizza got mighty old, mighty fast! And we are those kind of people that LOVE to eat out...I don't mind cooking/baking but I'd rather do it for a celebration or a party...I don't want to cook dinner every night. So going WDW is just a big excuse to eat out every night for 2 weeks! ;)

Thanks! I'm glad I got it. I debated on it because it was like $25 and I got my Thumper bag at Walmart last year for $8....so I wasn't sure I wanted to spend that much money on it, but at least it will last longer than the Thumper bag did (at least I HOPE it will!)

I love that you and your DBF volunteer and clean bunny cages, I love bunnies! That's such a nice thing to do! :cool1:

It is actually a lot of fun....I started off doing it by myself on Saturday mornings back in the fall of 2005. We only had about 10 cages back then and it used to take me 2 hours to do. Now we have about 26 cages and that's not even all of them! It takes Lumar and I about 2 hours to clean those 26 and another volunteer cleans the 10 cages inside the woman's house that contain the sick/injured ones.

Well...we're off to a picnic at my mom's house for the day! Happy Memorial Day!

OK so I'm really torn on what to as far as transportation from the airport back to our house when we return from Disney.

The morning we depart for WDW, we will be driving 30 minutes to my Mom's, leaving our car at her house and she will be bringing us to the airport.

I do not want to leave my car at the airport.

When we come back, there is no one to pick us up so I would need either a rental or a limo.

My first choice is a limo...have them pick us up and bring us to my mom's where we can just transfer to our car and drive home.

If we get a rental, we can just drive straight home...but that means we need to get up early the next morning, drive 30 minutes to my mom's to get our car, then go drop off the rental.

OR...we could pick up the rental at the airport, stop at my mom's and pick up our car, transfer our luggage from the rental, go drop it off, then finally head home.

Clearly, the limo is the most convenient option but I'm worried about price. Everything I've seen is twice the cost of a rental and there aren't any low cost commuter shuttles that service the airport we're using.

Parking at the airport will cost $250-$275, whereas a rental will cost about $100.

Thoughts? Opinions?

We live about an hour from the airport we use and until recently (with the advent of my daughter driving and having a fiance) we did not anyone who could take us to the airport. So we would do a park and fly at a nearby hotel. Works pretty slick cause they have free shuttles. It is very convenient because their shuttles are always going and parking at the hotel is much simpler than at the airport.

Just a thought, but could something like that work?

I would agree with checking in to a park-and-ride hotel near the airport. We have some near Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) that are only arond $100 a night, and you can park there for a week (for free)!

Hmmm...I will have to look into that....I'm not familiar with the area cuz this is our first time using this airport but thanks for the tip! I'll check to see what hotels are around

Sheesh, I had no clue it was so expensive to park at the airport! Whenever I fly I've always had someone drop me off. The rental sounds like a hassle but if it's that cheap it might be a good way to go. Sorry I'm not more helpful! :confused3

Another thing I like about staying at the local hotel before flying out...it starts the trip just that much sooner! :woohoo:

And, not all hotels offer the park and fly..but most offer free parking and shuttles to the airport. One year we stayed in a hotel and parked..they knew we were parking there all week, but didn't care. It was an unsecured lot, but we paid the hotel rate for one night...but no parking rate.

good luck!

It's not usually, it's just this specific airport...if you are not familiar with Fairfield County CT and Westchester County NY, it's a VERY ritzy area...my DH grew up in Fairfield CT and it's just...a different type of place! So this airport is kind of here for these people, so parking is crazy expensive...because to them, $25 a night is nothing! That and the airport is TINY so I'm assuming they need to make money any way they can! If you fly out of the bigger international airports in CT or NY it's much cheaper to park long term.

My friend who flew out of here in January (the one who recommended the airport to me) stayed in a local hotel and got shuttle service from the hotel to the airport, so I can ask her where she stayed for you. I think if you go to the airports website they have a list up there as well. We considered CT Limo, but they don't go to that airport. :confused3
