The networks have been ignoring Jamaica for the most part, so I went to Jamaica's newspaewr (the Gleaner) to get coverage. Looks like they got away with very little damage or lives lost. Here is the link.

The last 24 hours have been amazing to watch. Ivan made a beeline for Jamaica, then turned left at the last minute and took a path around it. It stayed a constant distance from shore (it even backed up as it moved around the coastline). A true miracle. The picture below shows what I mean. Just amazing!

I thought it was amazing that the hurricane went around Jamaica like that. Their prayers were definitely answered!

The Weather Channel has been doing a half decent job of covering Jamaica every half hour or so.

I was watching what you are talking about earlier today and it is absolutely amazing what this hurricane did.

I've been hurting so much for the Jamaican people. There were just sitting ducks who couldn't fly away from this.

I got married there last summer and it holds a very special place in my heart.

And yes, I do believe in miracles.

That's what I was going to say. I'm still praying REAL hard for it to leave Florida alone!
