Lining Up for La Cava del Tequila

So, one of my "bucket list" items is to sample some tequila (and queso, let's be real) at La Cava del Tequila. I know they open at 11:30, but what time do people start lining up? Is it anything like Trader Sam's, where people get there over thirty minutes before?

As soon as the building opens at 11:00 people get in line at La Cava, however most people in line just order at the bar unless you are there Fri-Sun during Food and Wine. If you get there before or right at 11:30 on a non-Food and Wine day you should be able to get seating. Since it's on your bucket list you might want to get in line as soon as they open, just in case. It's one of our favorites, although I really enjoy getting a margarita from the bar and then drinking it as we look around (especially the little wooden carvings - LOVE those things!) instead of sitting inside.

Tell you the truth, it's not all that hard to get a seat at a table in there. Unless it's a weekend during F&W. It's a must do for DH and I every trip. Folks think it's hard but you walk up and tell the CM at the door your name and they'll take it down and seat you when there's room. If you don't have a big party you can typically get seated pretty quickly. At least we always have. The line for ordering at the bar is different and gets very long.
