I have a question. I am in the middle of trying to book private transportation from WDW Resort to the Port Canaveral. I am wondering what time should the pick up be? I have been reading that the Port now has rules about limo companies dropping off passengers earlier than 11am? If this is correct, I'm assuming getting picked up from WDW around 9:30a should be ok?

Also, we will be traveling with 4 Adults and 5 children. So what limo type (and companies) would you suggest? We will be travelling from out of State, so I'm assuming we will have quite a bit of luggage. Maybe 4-5 check-in luggage's? So i'm not sure what type of limo would fit us all, as far as passenger size and luggage.

I am going to be requesting quotes soon, but would like some feedback.

Thanks in advance!

Yes there are these new rules and you shouldn't be picked up before 10 am. If you are at the furthest WDW resort then 9.45 should be the pick up.

Thanks for the input, I will make sure to request a pickup no earlier than 9:30a.

Is the Disney Art of Animation considered far?

Now as for the limo type and limo company... Hmmm...

Keep in mind, the ship doesn't start boarding until 11:15-11:30 so unless you are trying to get a port upgrade, there's really no reason to get there super early. Getting there at 10:30 only guarantees you 45 minutes of waiting. You won't get on any sooner by getting there early if you have a later PAT. Your boarding group number is tied to your PAT.

Boarding groups usually run:
1 - Concierge,
2 (& maybe 3) - Platinum CC members,
(possibly 3) or 4+ - all other pax determined by PAT

It is usually 3-4 minutes between boarding groups

I've used Happy Limo (www.happylimo.com) in the past and been very satisfied. I'm sure others will have additional suggestions with their preferred car service. Most car services have a max pax and luggage number shown on the fleet page of their website.

Leaving WDW between 9:30 or 10:00 should get you there around 11:00.

I've used happy limo line a pp has we've used them on 3 of our WDW/DCL trips and have always had excellent service. If you call them and discuss your traveling party, they will recommend the correct size for you. Also, if you go to allears.net you can get a voucher for, I think, a 10% discount.

Thanks for the tip. I greatly appreciate it.

Has anyone here use Ace Luxury?

Fwiw, the rule isn't that new. The info was on the website when we used fltours in January 2014.

3 people and 4 checked bags and 3 roller carryons was too much for the limo. The trunk of a limo just isn't that big. If doing it again I would go for a big SUV that can accommodate the bags. Our driver got to have a carryon in his passenger seat and we had our backpacks with us.

They said we had too many bags for a towncar, but we basically own a towncar and the trunk is massive. We got to the airport in our car, so the car places make no sense lol

Takes about an hour to get to the port from wdw.

Not always. Two of our last three cruises we had boarding number 2 and were not Platinum CC.
We were also #2 as first time cruisers (did have a wheelchair, if that made any difference, but didn't appear to) with a 1030 PAT on a sold out cruise.
