Limited PS hours for MK restaurants in early Aug??????

I tried to make some PS's today for dinner at CRT and LTT (first week of Aug) and the agent told me that the latest time that they were taking PS's was 5:45 pm.

I asked why - if the later ones were not available because they were already booked but was told that there were NO reservations at these places later than 5:45 pm.
I asked why and they said the park probably was closing early - which I said was not true it closed at 10:00 pm (which she then verified).

Does that seem odd? When we were there last year first week of Aug we had dinner PS's at CRT for 8:30 pm.

Well, I called this morning at 8:00 exactly 60 days for our PS at 50's PT cafe, and was told that the last seating he had was for 6:00 pm. I didn't ask him if it's because it was already full (in just one hour?) but I did think that was a little strange. I know it's not because the park is closing since we are going to Fantasmic. Anyone else had the same scenario??

I requested CRT for dinner first week of Aug for around 7:30 and was told 5:35 was the only thing available. I thought that was strange. DU is taking care of my PS and for the other ones I have booked I had no problem. I got them all at the time I requested.

The same thing happened to me for my July trip. No matter where I called, MK/Plaza or MGM (H&V or 50sPT), I could not get a later PS than 6:00.
