limited # of people in ECV/Wheelchair viewing areas?

I've been reading through the guidebooks provided by the parks for disabled guests since it looks like my dad will be getting an ECV. One question I have is about Illuminations/ToD viewing areas. It says there is a limit of 6 people, or the disabled guest plus 5. Well, we have a total of 7 (there goes that 3rd child throwing a wrench in the works again! ) --my parents, me, DH and 3 kids. The booklet says we will need to split up, but the only reason my parents are going is to be with us. Is this strictly enforced? DS is only 4, BTW, and can sit in his stroller or on DH's shoulders, depending on his mood.

They will not separate you from what I have seen. The four year old will not be allowed to remain in the stroller at the fence though. Someone will need to hold him or he will need to stand. In the parade areas he can sit in front of the ECV or on the curb.

be prepared that if it is very busy that they might only let in 2 of you. that dosn't happen much but could.

We have gone when it was very busy and were told only one person plus the wheelchair user. They allowed my DH and I to be with DD because she started crying when I was told I'd have to stay out of the area. My other DD and her grandmother had to stay outside the wheelchair viewing area.
If you go at a time when it is not busy, you will likely all be able to stay together, just like Lisa posted.

Keep in mind that you don't need to be in the wheelchair viewing areas to get a good view. Just find a spot along the water where you can see the barges out in the middle of the WS lagoon. A good portion of the show takes place on the water. When they say there are good viewing areas all around WS, they are being truthful. Some of the wheelchair viewing areas have restricted views. We once were told to park right behind a tree and DD had a viwe of whatever fireworks she could see on each side of the trunk.
