Imagine that! The first New Year's Eve we actually stayed up until midnight and beyond! Yeah, we got really, really wild and crazy and stayed up until around 2:00.
We sat around watching the Simpsons for a few hours, laughing hysterically at Homer's thumb getting cut off, the family visiting Japan, and Homer getting fat so he could go on disability. So, so funny!
Around 11:00 I got out my camera in hopes of capturing some amazing shots of the fireworks using the newly discovered "fireworks" setting. They were supposed to start at 12:00, the "duh" hour for starting a NEW YEARS fireworks show, but true to lame-o Central Asian NON-planning they started at 11:26. Doh!! We ran outside to see a glorious display seriously almost even as good, or better, than anything at WDW. I can tell you truthfully, that the ones at the end were far bigger and went far higher than anything you'd see in the MK! All that was lacking was some music and a storyline.
Even so, apparently, you can still take photos that defy all possibility of even remotely looking like anything other than red and white streaky blobs resembling oncoming headlights in the rain through a windshield. I won't bother to post any- they suck. The video I took turned out ok. I'll post that later, when I become unlazy, and actually get out of bed. Don't hold your breath.
Suffice it to say, that any hopes I had of thinking I could get a decent shot of Wishes in Sept. were dashed like butter in a churn. Of course, like any other touron at WDW I'll still click away, and be highly disappointed when I download and view the lot.
So starts our 2010. In just 25 short minutes, we will log onto the FAFSA website and see what kind of cashola our bankrupt gov't is willing to give us for sending our son to school. Being next to dirt poor, we expect good things.
As you ring in your new year, may God bless you richly!! May your year be fruitful in love and faith!!
