Now that's what I'm talking about!!! And yes, every minute there will certainly be a gift from above!!! How can one look at it any other way?

By the way, at some point, I need to share what went down this last week. Without saying too much right now I'm still trying to figure out things yet) my world has been rocked, and it may affect the trip in some ways. More as I sort out my thoughts...

okay. take your time.....

I hope everything is okay Liesa. My mind is racing . . . You are in my prayers.

Breathe.

Process.

and know we are here

Thanks so much everyone. It's a long, long story, and very soon I will share it all; just not yet. Let's just say that in the next weeks we need to make some life decisions, and those are never easy to make. The very short version is that we are both feeling a very real sense of "burn out" in our work here, and some other pressing issues (mostly related to our kids' education) need attention sooner than later. Our leadership came just short of requiring us to leave earlier than when our term is up in a year and a half, but left the decision up to us.

There's a lot in my heart, and we just need some time to sort things out. Obviously since it affects the trip in some ways, I'll share more- I know you guys do care.

Good evening :) Sounds like you had a few things come to a head at once..bleh! We'll have you in our thoughts. The Poly sounds great, very relaxing and laid back, and that is right up my alley..Piper's..erm..not so much, lol. The arm flab thing cracked me up, Piper calls mine "the slushie part" and takes great joy in hitting it with her hand to make it jiggle! You've got everything planned so nicely...I'm jealous. :)

Uh-huh! That's about it. A lot of stuff that came to a head, that we'll have to make some decisions about soon. Bleh!

Nope, hanging around in a hammock isn't so much what kids like to do, and that's why I'm so looking forward to this trip!

:lmao: "The slushie part".... that's a crack up, and my 7 year old does that same thing. So. not. funny!

First, everyone is feeling better. Being sick is no picnic.

Second, when I read your post about POR, I was sort of feeling comfy and lazy. Like, yes, go get some beignets, yum. And no, I didn't know that there was a butterfly garden. That's so cool!

Then I read your post about the Poly, and I got all excited, and wished I was going! :lmao: That sounds like all sorts of grown up fun!!! :thumbsup2

Hey Liesa -

Sorry I have been MIA for so long - I have only been on the DIS very sporadically for the last month!

I am sorry life things have gotten crazy for you! I am sure you will make the right decisions for you and your family. Sending thoughts and prayers your way.

Running off now to try to catch up on my favorite threads so I can post some coherent thoughts.

Good Morning my Tiki-Peepies!!!

We've now come the next stop in our tour of TC3 Must-Do's for the Week O' Freedom Trip.

Our Tour of Duty stops over at the Polynesian Resort of Luxury and Pure Comfort next on the agenda of merry-making; so let's take a look at what Soldier #1 plans to do here, shall we??

I am probably going to get in trouble for this...I have NO Must Do's for the Poly...except maybe the pool? And Tonga Toast? SO I am totally going to ride on your coat tails here...

1) Watching Wishes from the beach is pretty high up on the list! I can't wait to take me some carpy photos and share them all with you here.

AWESOME! I can't wait for this! :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

2) Most evenings around 6:00 the Poly hosts a cute little show as they light the Tiki torches. As insignificant as this sounds, I'm pretty darned excited about this! Remember, this trip is all about the usually missed, fun little things.

See...I did not even know about this!

3) Just to feel like I'm a 5 year old little princess again, I'm going to be in search of the perfect hibiscus flower to pick up out of the landscaping (fallen already of course, because good DIS-ers don't pick flowers) to stick in my hair. I'll wear it proudly and pretend I"m the Hawaiian queen ruling over her tropical realm for an hour or two.

Uh...I will help you FIND the flower? :confused3 :cutie:

4) The arm flab will be taking a spin on the volcano slide for a few kicks and giggles as well.

You are totally on your own for this one. I would break the slide! :rotfl:

5) And when I've had enough of acting like a tropical queen and pretending I'm 10 as I squeal down the slide, I'll go pick up some Kona blend to brew up in the mornings. Yum, yum!

See...here again...I will grab a Diet Coke.

6) Then, as I continue the swing to the "adult" side of life, I"ll saunter over to the lounge and rustle up a nice, juicy, tangy, sweet Lapu and sip away an hour or so, while I listen to whatever they provide for entertainment (while I contemplate WHY they let Kaleo go :confused3).

Who is Kaleo??

7) Doesn't taking a lei-surely walk among the lush, tropical grounds, drowning in Tahitian drumming sound luxurious?!

This DOES sound wonderful! :cloud9:

8) How about swinging in a hammock with a good book or a journal sound??

Heavenly.

9) Of course, The Poly sports a few well Hidden Mickeys too. Want to come find a few with me?

Sure! :)

10) Last, but not least, (sock this away for future reference), Soldier #1 loves her some well-prepared sushi. I'm thinking a late night snack of Nigiri or Tekkamaki (sp.?) might be in order!

I will have Tonga Toast while you grab some sushi! :)

Well, there you have it. Something for Soldier #1 to dream about for a few more months.

Sounds awesome!! :) Sorry for my lack of a list here!

We have talked...so I am totally cheating here!

:grouphug: Big hugs as you sort everything out!

He has you in the palm of His hand.

Hey TK,

Everyone is feeling much better. My lung/gall bladder/ weird thing is gone, and the flu hasn't spread any further.

We are going from lazy to lazier for sure- but only at the resorts!!!

HA! (It's not too late..)

Welcome back!!! I know you were in the middle of moving- which takes ever so long! Don't worry, we aren't going anywhere :)

Thanks! It will all become more clear over the next weeks...
Sounds awesome!! :) Sorry for my lack of a list here!

JEN!!!!! Welcome back! :hu:

Yes, He does always hold us tight. I am at peace- but in the dark.

Don't worry about your lack of a list. We've gotcha covered!

Lifting you guys up, I know HE will help you make the right decision.

THANKS!, Cynthia!

A time for more leaning and trusting for sure. Muddy, yes. Scary, no.

Ooooh the Poly..:cloud9:

You have to watch Wishes from the beach. It's so much fun and such a different view of them!

Haha, my Sis had to put a flower in her hair too!

Oh yum, Lapu Lapu!

And the sushi is yummy too!

I will be doing all of that and more; look out Poly- there's some serious relaxing comin' your way!!

I've finally pulled myself out of the remodeling hole that is my house! What did I miss?

OH, the Poly!! My heaven on earth.

(the view from my room)

I will remember you in my prayers, Liesa!

" I waited patiently for the Lord;
He turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
He set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the Lord." Psalm 40:1-3

Waiting is so hard. Waiting patiently is even worse. The Lord will hear your cry and when answer when His time is right. Often blessings cannot be received unless we go through the trail of waiting. Praying for you and your family.

Liesa, I just wanted to offer my support. If you need anyone to talk to, you've got my e-mail, please feel free. I'll keep you in my prayers.

I'm still trying to get back into the swing of DISing.:surfweb: So here come my comments on the Poly part of your trip. :wave2:

1) Watching Wishes from the beach is pretty high up on the list! I can't wait to take me some carpy photos and share them all with you here.
If you are not at a park, you NEED to do this.... preferably with a cocktail in hand! ;)

2) Most evenings around 6:00 the Poly hosts a cute little show as they light the Tiki torches. As insignificant as this sounds, I'm pretty darned excited about this! Remember, this trip is all about the usually missed, fun little things.
I never knew about this. Sounds fun!

I'll wear it proudly and pretend I"m the Hawaiian queen ruling over her tropical realm for an hour or two.
I won't tell if you pick the flower. :ssst:

4) The arm flab will be taking a spin on the volcano slide for a few kicks and giggles as well.
Who will go down the slide more.. you or Maroo???? :confused3

5) And when I've had enough of acting like a tropical queen and pretending I'm 10 as I squeal down the slide, I'll go pick up some Kona blend to brew up in the mornings. Yum, yum!
Yes! You have to try the 100% from Kona Cafe too!

Adult swingers... huh? :confused3

7) Doesn't taking a lei-surely walk among the lush, tropical grounds, drowning in Tahitian drumming sound luxurious?!
This sounds very relaxing.:cloud9:

8) How about swinging in a hammock with a good book or a journal sound??
Ummm you might be pushing it with the reading.

9) Of course, The Poly sports a few well Hidden Mickeys too. Want to come find a few with me?
A nice HM hunt is good for the soul.. so I hear.:listen:

10) Last, but not least, (sock this away for future reference), Soldier #1 loves her some well-prepared sushi. I'm thinking a late night snack of Nigiri or Tekkamaki (sp.?) might be in order!
You'd be proud of me.. I expanded my sushi love when I went to Indiana. I'm sure you will be able to find some yummy sushi here. ::yes::

Well, there you have it. Something for Soldier #1 to dream about for a few more months.
Here are my opinions. I think your Poly stay sounds wonderful. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I've finally pulled myself out of the remodeling hole that is my house! What did I miss?

A lot, my funny friend!! But as you exit your mini-crisis, I am about to enter one. More on that coming soon....

OH, the Poly!! My heaven on earth.

I will remember you in my prayers, Liesa!

It really is a small paradise waiting for me! Can't wait!

Thanks, so much Shannon for thinking about me. I knew I could count on everyone here.

I love that passage- it's one for all occasions, but especially for times like this when there is more unknown than revealed.

Honestly, we are at a point of accepting whatever answer it ends up being, AND are almost at the point of being excited about what He has for us next. Almost.

Liesa, I just wanted to offer my support. If you need anyone to talk to, you've got my e-mail, please feel free. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks, TK! I just may do that. You have perspective, which is what we had lost.

I'm still trying to get back into the swing of DISing.:surfweb: So here come my comments on the Poly part of your trip. :wave2:

I won't tell if you pick the flower. :ssst:

Really?! You won't??

Who will go down the slide more.. you or Maroo???? :confused3

Probably me. Or LeeAnn. She's a major daredevil, and loves to water ski and drive the boat!

Yes! You have to try the 100% from Kona Cafe too!

If the money is there, I'll do it.

Adult swingers... huh? :confused3

Just meaning that I want to be part kid, AND part adult on this trip. The Poly has a little for everyone.

Ummm you might be pushing it with the reading.

Yes, I admit, I'm not much for being quiet like that too often, but in contemplation of my blessings, I may take a journal.

A nice HM hunt is good for the soul.. so I hear.:listen:

They are!!! They are!

You'd be proud of me.. I expanded my sushi love when I went to Indiana. I'm sure you will be able to find some yummy sushi here. ::yes::

I'm impressed!! Did you work up to raw fish yet?

Here are my opinions. I think your Poly stay sounds wonderful. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
