So...1,2, or 3? Since I already know, I won't say anything. What a good joke it would be if you actually showed up for the dole whip!!

I still think you will eventually end up in a DVC or deluxe resort room before all is said and done (even if you don't start with ressies at one). However, to me, I think Port Orleans is more likely for you guys than CSR. I don't know why - just a gut instinct.

If you haven't subscribed to Maroo's new TR (see previous hijack), make sure you do - it will be great! (and Sandy I would probably have the tissues ready like Liesa said the Wish kid stories seem to always have at least one tissue moment).

Only time will tell on that one---maybe. I do like the idea of that, truly, I do.

I've been over there, and hope she'll give us the lowdown soon, but i think she'll wait until she gets back to dive in.

While POR looks nice, I just haven't warmed up to it like other Resorts. :confused3

It's so funny how some resorts are so wonderful to some, but to others they are places that wouldn't even be considered. I guess it really comes down to what theming or amenities or location or value you are looking for. That's why Disney is so great! There really is something for everyone there. Low cost, upscale, hip-hoppin' groovy vs. serene and peaceful, large vs. small- so many choices!!

That's so true. There's a Resort for just about everyone's liking.

Thanks Jen :thumbsup2 I've been reading all the MAW TR - my heart just goes out! Prayers go up!! :littleangel:

oh, a tease!! ;)

We took my parents and I wanted a "lovely" resort - they stayed at All Stars with my brother - so thanks to Free Dining, and my OCD Planning skills - they had a wonderful time - except for the dern transportation at POR - THAT trip - it was the first time Free Dining was offered too - so maybe the transportation system hadnt caught up with the crowds...

I had originally booked POFQ - but no free dining there that trip - - so POR it was - ITA it was a gorgeous resort - loved the dining area - we did take the boat twice - but mostly I was grateful my parents had their car! I had scheduled most of our adr's at resorts so my parents wouldnt have to use a ticket to get in the park (My dad is not a park person - but it was HIS BEST trip EVER to Disney :wizard: He went to the Richard Petty Experience 3- 4 days!! :rotfl2:)

but because of that - dh refuses to stay at a moderate! That whole trip we kept seeing how great the bus service was for pop - so its Pop for us!! :rotfl2:

except when we do DVC!! :cool1: (that would be our Marathon trips!! :rotfl2: if I have to run to get to Disney I want to be close to Epcot!! :rotfl2: Luckily DD loves Epcot!!) :thumbsup2

so too many words for an opinion - eh?

In the end ITA - there's something for everyone at Disney :thumbsup2

POR huh? That was my second choice when we went in March. I can see the TC3 being very relaxed at POR. Pampered..... not so much. CSR has the spa. I'll have to go back and read up on POR because I stopped gathering info when I decided on CSR. POR does seem like a beautiful resort. Plus that boat ride to DTD is really cool... but with shopping at the bottom of your list, it doesn't seem to be a priority.

Is this it... 3 choices???

I only have 2 pics of POR uploaded to my photobucket account -
at least you can get a feel for the rooms - sorta This one you see the door pictured best!
DSCN0955.jpg

towel animals every day - a very nice mousekeeper always was interrupted by the silliness of the animals in the room ;)

dd enjoyed the walks...

found a couple more!!

we had adjoining (or is that connecting?) The door behind dd head that is open is my mom and dad's room - the door that's closed over her head is the door to the outside walkway!

Well, out of the 3 choices we have been given so far, I would have to vote for CSR, for many of the same reasons as that's nice. It just seems to have more of what you are looking for for a fun ladies getaway, and the queen size beds will definitely make for a more comfortable stay when there are 3 of you.

Also, I noticed one of the CSR pics is of the 3 Caballeros....TC3 - 3 Caballeros - I think I see a connection here!

And, CSR is one of my personal favorite resorts because of all of the extra ammenties offered for a moderate. I love BC & BWI because of the close proximity to Epcot WS, but cost is often a factor, so CSR is my next choice even though it is farther.

Although, with the new pirate: rooms at CBR and the little pirate: living at my house, that may be our choice for the next trip that is not even planned yet. :sad1: Anyone hear of any Jack Sparrow sightings at the new rooms yet? ;) That would definitely sway my decision! :thumbsup2

Well I really didn't have a good impression of CSR until I read that's nice TR, I've warmed up to it a bit, but it's still not in my top five resorts. Now POR that is a place I want to stay at. If I had my choice of the three so far- that is where I would stay for an all girls trip. Though I think I fancy POFQ more just cause I like a smaller resort feel. But POR is high up on my list of places to stay.
For all the reasons you listed in your description. So I'm leaning toward that one for you all. But I agree with a previous poster in that I believe you all will be upgrading by the time you actually go- to a deluxe or DVC

I'm voting for #2 - CSR. Not quite sure why I picked it over POR, just a gut instinct. POP was a distant 3rd.

Hmmm... now this is not very good news for anyone who wants to stay there. I've read both good and bad reports on the busses, so it sounds like either a good or a bad experience. Maroo's not sure if she's driving or flying, wherever we end up being... :rolleyes1 we may end up with busses (or boats, or monorail).

No, you get one more in the next post. Hold on!

Yes, more elegant I'd say, but you're right about the spa... none of that at POR. But, we could go somewhere else for spa-ing- remember, we did say that seeing other resorts was high on the to-tackle list. You do have a point with the DTD boat and our goals for shopping, but DTD is more than just shopping; it's an experience with one of my favorite places to eat- Earl's!

I only have 2 pics of POR uploaded to my photobucket account -

Those were incredibly beautiful!! Thanks for sharing them with us :worship: The walks along those shady, mossy paths looks so relaxing!

Now, that would seem like a very logical connection- TC3 and the 3 Cabelleros!! HA!! I never saw that.

Yes, true they do have queens, a nice touch I must say!

It's funny that you are all saying that. Maroo is certainly persuasive in her uncanny abilities to find a great deal. I think when all comes out in the wash, we may not be staying at anything I've even considered yet!! :lmao:

I like your line of thought though; it seems well thought out.

I'm voting for #2 - CSR. Not quite sure why I picked it over POR, just a gut instinct. POP was a distant 3rd.

You still get one more choice, and here it comes...

As we open the final door, Contestants, gaze upon the magnificent beauty of a lush tropical paradise just minutes away from the world famous Magic Kingdom!!!

Feast your eyes on...

The Polynesian Resort

Set on the lovely 7 Seas Lagoon, The Poly, as we affectionately call this home away from home, holds spacious guest rooms equipped with every luxury a vacationer would ever want- from coffee makers to refrigerators! Each room is highly decorated in a polynesian theme with carved wood furniture.

Step outside of your room and be immediately immersed into tropical garden settings complete with an island vocano themed pool and soft Tahitian or Hawaiian music played softly throughout the winding paths.
After your comfortable night's sleep, head on over to the Magic Kingdom or EPCOT by MONORAIL- one of the incredible perks afforded at the Poly! Both DHS and Animal Kingdom can be accessed by the Poly's ample and convenient bus system. Need a soak in a hot tub after a day at the parks? The Poly provides this opportunity as well!

Everyone loves a luau!! Make sure to hit O'hana when you're hungry. It's the family-style eating establishement known for its signature dishes of skewered roasted meats. MMMmmm, mmmm! And who doesn't love Tonga Toast?? You can get this tasty dish just steps away from your room at The Kona Cafe.

This resort also has a ton of extra little touches that make it unique among the resorts at WDW. The regular tiki lighting ceremonies, hula dancing lessons, a beach on the lake to watch Wishes from, and a marina from which to rent watercraft, from are all available.

So, Contestants... this is your final door. Now, it is time to cast your super-secret vote. (PM me for your final say) But, first, tell us all why you would or wouldn't think the TC3 would choose or not choose this lovely resort for their upcoming Ladies Extravaganza.

Ummm.... did I mention they have these??!!

Alas, I cannot take credit for these wonderful photos! Credit must be duly given to SeaSpray who posts on the resorts board.

Thanks for blind siding us!!!!! THE POLY???? RU SERIOUS?????

Well this really throws a wrench into my thinking. I want to stay at the Poly sooo bad someday. Who doesn't want to stay at a deluxe??? Your on the monorail, can do back early to the resort and still watch Wishes from the beach, very easy to split up staying here.. you can meet back up very fast, quick monorail ride from the GF for your pampering... WOW. I wasn't expecting this.

HUMMMM are we voting on where you book or where you ACTUALLY stay?:lmao:

POLY - POLY - POLY :cool1:

No contest!!

Our first trip with dd - I hadnt heard of AKL so I kept calling (didnt discover the Dis!) about how much to do this, or maybe we should just stay here... The Dolphin, dd would love that... oh not really Disney, ok how about .... then the CM on the phone clicked and clacked until.... she got us into the POLYNESIAN!! (for about $100 a night!! :worship:)

What a dream that stay was!! I cant begin to tell you how gorgeous, how relaxing, how close to everything!!

I  Disney!

Yes, we are very serious. Are you accusing me of pulling a fast one on ya'all (or however, Mary would spell that? :confused3). :lmao:

I've wanted to stay here since my first visit in Jan., 2001. It screams ME!

As for your voting... go with where you think maroo booked us on Monday. Yes, we've been booked for a couple of days, but I'm having so much fun that I think I'll give it a day to see where folks end up choosing.

$100!!?? That is unbelievable! Like in the realm of "this healthcare issue is going to be solved this year" unbelievable!!

In fact, it's almost as unbelievable as how long we've been without water this time!!! 2 days in fact; I'm grumpy and stinky!!! Can you imagine how I long for a stay at the Poly?? or any of those resorts right now???

So, what's your official guesses???

I vote that the reservations will originally be made for POP:thumbsup2, and shortly thereafter magically upgraded to POR:), soon after which Maroo will finnagle her way into CSR :cool2:(probably just by waving her magic upgrade wand), only to be followed by some pixie dust in the form a PIN code, and the end result being POLY:dance3:!

Trick question . . . . the answer is all of the above! (or, at least that's MY guess!)

POLY is great and your pictures make me want to dig up some of MY pictures from our vacation in Jan 2007 when we stayed in the Princess Suite in Tonga house courtesy of GPa the Fairy Grandfather. But since I cannot for the life of me remember where I put that disc, there is a link in my siggy. It is AMAZING, transportation is always a breeze. The accommodations are considered deluxe for a reason. You all would LOVE it!

You must of really had some Pixie Dust that day. $100 a night? I would of stayed there for 2 weeks at that price!!! That is so awesome!!!:goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear you have no water.:sad2: Is is gonna rain anytime soon? :rotfl: (sorry:rolleyes1)

So you have been booked since Monday and it is now Thursday. Are you trying to kill us? Or are you taking out your 'water situation' on all of us????:lmao:

I will think these 4 great choices over and PM you later. I hope you share everyones PM's....... I guess that would not make them PM's anymore:confused3 That would turn them into Public Messages.:rolleyes1

NO, not taking out my crappy water situation on all of you, but I do have to give everyone a fair chance at the fabulous prize package, right? I should let some folks get home from work? BTW, where are you?? :rolleyes1

I certainly will let everyone know who guessed what. It will be a hoot, I'm sure. Yeah, PM, can have 2 meanings in this case. :lmao:
