Those tie-dye shirts are awesome! My favorite one is the one in the middle.

I love them all, but the middle one is not either of ours. Maroo's is on the right, and mine is on the left. I think one is being made for ThePreacher'sWife, but I haven't seen it yet....

Glad you can appreciate DANGER when it is eminent!!! (Jen, I know you're at Magic Meets, but help me out on this one!!!)

Earlier, maroo posted this update on her PTR, but thought that some of you who aren't following that might want to hear what she has to say about her time at Pennsylvania at Magic Meets.

Here is an update on how her time is going. Obviously, she is WAY more celebrity than I am- maybe there will be an ALPHA soldier afterall... :confused3

You can follow her on Twitter or at www.wdwtoday.com or on facebook at www.facebook/maroo.com She also says she will update her PTR as well.

Magic Meets

I am going to attempt a "live" report from Magic Meets. For those of you guys that have Twitter - I am maroo268 and you can follow me there. I will have lots of tweets this weekend!

My trip started out with a bang yesterday. I had a limited amount of time to get from work, to home to get my stuff and Muffin, and to the airport. We have a small airport, but I still have to be there early enough to check in. As I was leaving work I noticed that I left the inside light on in my car.... Yep - battery was DEAD!

How on earth am I going to make my plane? But a quick call to security and a plea to hurry had me jumped off and going in less than 10 minutes. Home. Get Muffin. To the airport.

I checked in and must have looked harried, because the nice lady decided I deserved a little pixie dust and let Muffin fly free. $100 savings! Woo Hoo!!

My first flight was interesting. A nice lady named Jasmine was across the aisle from me and she was petrified of flying. First flight. She was so freaked out that someone in front of her gave her a teddy bear! So I spent most of that 2 hour flight trying to reassure her.

My second flight was uneventful. Shuttle to the hotel was perfect!

I have an awesome room that has an internal hallway door AND a door to the outside so that I can easily let Muffin out.

I did not sleep well. Muffin kept waking me up - she even barked a few times when she heard a strange noise (and there are plenty of those!).

I made a "cheat sheet" yesterday for the WDW Today team (Matt Hochberg, Mike Newell, Mike Scopa and Len Testa, but he is not here) to use tomorrow when they have a LIVE webcast all day. They are raising money for Make a Wish and I figured they could use some information about Wish Trips and some neat stories from the DIS to help raise even more money for Make a Wish during their webcast.

So I walked over to the Convention Area today, but only found closed doors with big signs that said not to come in - Magic In Progress! But I was just about to leave when two men walked out one of the doors. Here is how this conversation went....

Maroo: Sirs, Do you mind telling me where I....

Mike Newell: Mary! I recognize you! (Puts hand out to shake my hand) I am Mike Newell.

Maroo: *thinking - OMG!* How did you recognize ME? You are exactly who I was looking for!

Mike Newell: I am glad you found me! I recognize you from your Facebook page picture. Mary, meet Mike Scopa (the man standing beside him!)

I shake hands with Mike Scopa. Mike Newell explains that I am the auction winner and we sat there talking for several minutes. Then they asked if I had met Deb Wills yet and I said No - but that I hoped to meet her this weekend.

But they went and got her right away to come meet me. She was so nice! They had a photographer take our picture.

We all stood around talking about how I got hooked on Disney. They were shocked that I was such a "newbie" and that I had come solo. Mike Newell even asked if my Mom was with me. LOL My Mom doesn't even know I am here.

Then Matt Hochberg walked up with his wife. They introduced me to him, too. We talked about the fact that Twitter was down since it got hacked yesterday!

We talked for a while. They are so nice!

You would think I would want to take pictures of them or with them...but honestly, our conversation was so informal and they are just people that I thought taking a picture of them would be a little (ok a lot) strange!

But I am here!!

In a few minutes Jen is going to come pick me up (and Muffin!) and we are going to spend the afternoon hanging out!

Then tonight we have a "Meet Before the Magic" party (limited to only 100 people!), a Celebrity Magic Tunes event and a Karaoke Party.

I am so excited!!

This may be my last Magic Meets update for a while. But you can follow me on Twitter and I will be updating that all weekend long. My Twitter ID is maroo268.

Dang, Maroo! IF I had known you'd be at Magic meets, I'd have MADE the time and money to get there! Have a FUN time!

I am trying to catch-up on this pre-trippee since I have been... occupied with the live stage. Is there anyway to summarize what has happened since... oh, I don't know... perhaps Nashville:confused3?

I think I made it to page 18, but may have missed some along the way.

Hello all. I haven't posted in a while as I have been on vacation in remote Idaho vacationing at the lake of priests (also known as Priest Lake). When I returned, work and school board duties have taken my time:) But I have enjoyed the updates as I read through all the crazy postings....my I guess I am going to have to come up with a few shortcomings of myself, which I hate to admit that I have but everyone knows exists. I will think on those for a while....but I do love the tie dye clothes. They are so cool:banana: All is well with the Preachers family as all are home now and we have shuffled rooms to accommodate all 5 kids being back home. And we have a new addition to our home. The girls brought home a kitty only 5 weeks old that we are nursing to health. Interesting life we lead....

So my thoughts are turned to our trip in a year and I am in desperate need of it!!!! I am dreaming of the magical feeling as I enter under the welcome sign and plan my day with my old and new friends. I can't wait to sip a "rita" and dip in a pool in the sunshine!!!! Ahahaha the life of the women that have earned a trip of freedom away:)

My unique shortcomings.

1. I must have at least one dr. pepper a day or I get grumpy.

2. I must have sun and the hotter the better. We had 107 degrees here and I was the only one happy.

3. I am always cold.

4. The older I get, the less I am able to stay up until 2 am and get up 7 am and be happy. I do need my sleep to be pleasant (at least 8 hours).

5. Super slow people drive me nuts when I am ready to go and trying to get somewhere.....what are they thinking? This seems to be a unanimous thing....

6. I have a cough that is always with me....especially when I am physically active. It drives everyone nuts but I can't do anything about it so just know that it is part of me and my "thorn in the flesh" that makes me unique.

Ok, I will think of a million more but that is my list right now.

I have a few more pet peeves but they have to do with teenagers (in my house) and won't have anything to do with this trip!!!!!

Looking forward to reading more of this:lovestruc

I may know the recipient of the middle shirt (and it is very nice BTW). :rolleyes1

Glad you can appreciate DANGER when it is eminent!!! (Jen, I know you're at Magic Meets, but help me out on this one!!!)

Sorry I wasn't here for you! It is actually imminent (eminent is a word but with a different meaning).

Dang, Maroo! IF I had known you'd be at Magic meets, I'd have MADE the time and money to get there! Have a FUN time!

Magic Meets was great! I am sorry you didn't come. Next year, they are doing a Royal Caribbean cruise for Magic Meets which is really disappointing to me since I live in Camp Hill, PA (two miles from where Magic Meets was held). Meeting Mary (Maroo) and hanging out with people that get the Disney thing was awesome! I am thinking about doing a PTR for my October trip and if I do I want to put in a mini Magic Meets TR so I don't want to say too much yet.

TK - I have a cute kid comment for you (well for everyone). So yesterday, DD (Age 5) says to Maroo about her Southern accent - "Miss Mary you've been here for two days so why are you still talking Mississippi?" :rotfl:

Dang, Maroo! IF I had known you'd be at Magic meets, I'd have MADE the time and money to get there! Have a FUN time!

Hello!! Is this the first time we've seen you around these parts?? If so, WELCOME!!! :welcome: WELCOME! Indeed, it is a shame you couldn't make it to PA! I'm sure maroo would have loved to have had you along. :yay:

I am trying to catch-up on this pre-trippee since I have been... occupied with the live stage. Is there anyway to summarize what has happened since... oh, I don't know... perhaps Nashville:confused3?

Welcome back! I have been checking your ptr for updates and pictures of the performances, and I'll go there after I post here. (Was my post on yours helpful about posting pix?) I'm so glad you had a great time; what an excellent way to spend a summer together as a family!

Only page 18- you DO have a ways to catch up. But if it helps, it did make a Table of Contents with links on the first page for quicker reading (if you want to skip the chit-chat). Anyway, welcome to the insanity, once again!

First off, welcome back!! It's been far too long since you've joined in!!! HA!

Glad you like the shirts! ;)

Concerning cats... we've brought home several abandoned kittens here, but they've everyone died! It was awful, and now my kids have learned to not bring them home anymore.

We are all in desperate need of this trip. Ritas by the pool? I can very much handle that! How 'bout a Lapu Lapu in the Poly??

Yes, it really is a magical feeling sailing under that welcome sign, and I can totally imagine us screaching like little children as we do so! I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

My unique shortcomings. (You have some??!!! :rolleyes1)
1. I must have at least one dr. pepper a day or I get grumpy.

We better Garden Grocer that one; I'm not sure they have any on property... anyone know for sure??

2. I must have sun and the hotter the better. We had 107 degrees here and I was the only one happy.

Me too, baby! But I do get a bit grouchy if it's humid AND hot!

3. I am always cold.

Is this why we are such great friends? We are so alike!!!

4. The older I get, the less I am able to stay up until 2 am and get up 7 am and be happy. I do need my sleep to be pleasant (at least 8 hours).

Again, same here. But trust me... you won't want to stay in bed when a whole new park day awaits you! And it IS hard to leave when the park is still open. :rolleyes1

5. Super slow people drive me nuts when I am ready to go and trying to get somewhere.....what are they thinking? This seems to be a unanimous thing....

It sure does! Move it, people!!!

6. I have a cough that is always with me....especially when I am physically active. It drives everyone nuts but I can't do anything about it so just know that it is part of me and my "thorn in the flesh" that makes me unique.

I think you think it bugs people; it really doesn't. Don't worry about it! If you can deal with the freaking gag-a-woman, then I can deal with "Suzy Q. Coughy Pants"!

Ok, I will think of a million more but that is my list right now.

I have a few more pet peeves but they have to do with teenagers (in my house) and won't have anything to do with this trip!!!!!

Darn tootin'-- they ALL stay home, this time!

Looking forward to reading more of this:lovestruc

Hope you can get on more often, now that the summer is over. Routine should set in soon. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I knew I had messed that word up! Homonyms can be killer sometimes! I especially like immigrate and emigrate!

You mean you're going on a trip in October, and haven't started your PTR???!!! :scared1: You do realize this one is for NEXT year, right??!!! :lmao: It will indeed take some serious groupies to hang out with us for THAT long! :rotfl2:

You know what's even funnier?? Every time I get on the phone with Mary, I start talking with a Suthin' accent!! It's so easy to pick up and fun to drawl out all those vowels. :rotfl2:

After all these confessions, we are going to have to see where some problems are going to arise...... like 8 hours of sleep -vs- 8am ADR's or belching -vs- gagging -vs- (ahhhmmm) 'tooting'.

I hope your trip comes fast,, I can't wait to see how this is going to turn out! LOL:rotfl:

You do understand you will have to be one seriously dedicated groupie for this PTR, cuz (maybe some of you don't realize...) this trip isn't until Sept., 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, we'll have to clear the room pretty quickly between all of our minor character flaws.

I've made up new names for all of us, "The gag-a-rator", "Suzy Q. Coughy Pants" and (maroo made this up for herself in her Sarah's Going to Africa TR) "Grumpy Butt" . Granted, she's only that a very, very once in a while! Like when people try to steal chairs from her table... :confused3

You know.. I was thinking about that (9/10) when I was writing my last obnoxious and probably dumb comments.

This could be one of the longest PTR's ever. You guys should have everything IRONED out by next September (insert ironing smily here)(:iron)

You might be able to eliminate some problems like-- lack of sleep. Suzy Q. Coughy Pants has over a year to bank some extra hours of sleep she can cash in on the trip!!!:rotfl:

NOWAY! Your comments make me laugh hysterically!

I am SURE everything will be worked out wonderfully in a year's time. Maroo will learn to eat her vegetables, LeeAnn can bank her sleep, and I can practice telling everyone to hurry up every morning!! I like to hear, "Yes, ma'am!".

Hello. Long time lurker, first time poster, I think. Have I posted here before? :confused3 I can't remember. Just ignore me if I have, lol.

PreachersWife, just wanted to say Hello from another school board member. I'm in my 2nd year of a 3 year term. Are you enjoying being on the board?

Maroo, I hope you made it home safely from MagicMeets. Please know that Rachel is often in our thoughts and always in our prayers.

and All7OfUs - Just wanted to let you know I LOVE your writing! You are hilarious! Also, you are the cause of many glares from DH as he tries to sleep and I'm :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: while reading your PTR. WHEN (notice I didn't say IF) you complete this PTR you should all get your name in Guiness or something! It has to be some sort of record!

Yes, I think this is your first post here!!! Congratulations! You have now been enlisted to join forces with the TC3 Freedom Fighters. You will be forced to march through all kinds of ridiculous speeches of absolutely meaningless jabber, and put up with our self-agrandizment often. HA!! Seriously, thanks for your sweet comments. Really, I don't consider myself that great of a writer, although I do enjoy it. :lovestruc It is one of the few things that keeps me sane, while living about as far away from WDW as one can get!! :rotfl2::dance3:

Yes, we very much intend to scare people off for the entire year, and in the end we will salute all who hang in there with us for the whole year and almost half!!! Maybe we should offer a consolation prize for those of you who can answer the occasional quiz questions. LOL!

I sincerely hope we can keep all you peeps entertained for than long! I've been told (off) once that I have a lot to say. :lmao:

WOW!!! LeeAnn, you're back!! :woohoo: I think you should post more. Oh here, I have an idea that will fix your problem- you can DIS when you're at work- like Maroo!!! :lmao:

1. I must have at least one dr. pepper a day or I get grumpy.

I don't see anything wrong with this.

2. I must have sun and the hotter the better. We had 107 degrees here and I was the only one happy.

I'm not a sun worshipper, but I don't mind the heat in Florida at all.

Especially if it means I need a slushie margarita to cool myself off.

3. I am always cold.

Ditto, with the exception of Florida heat.

4. The older I get, the less I am able to stay up until 2 am and get up 7 am and be happy. I do need my sleep to be pleasant (at least 8 hours).

I was never, ever good at this, so I hear ya!

5. Super slow people drive me nuts when I am ready to go and trying to get somewhere.....what are they thinking? This seems to be a unanimous thing....

This drives me nuts, too! I'm starting to think I need to hang out with you people more often.

6. I have a cough that is always with me....especially when I am physically active. It drives everyone nuts but I can't do anything about it so just know that it is part of me and my "thorn in the flesh" that makes me unique.

I'm sure the girls can accept that!

Except, I would take that opportunity to work something into it, like, :::coughcough"INeedADoleWhip"coughcough:::

You know, so they get the hint! ;)

I may know the recipient of the middle shirt (and it is very nice BTW). :rolleyes1

:goodvibes

TK - I have a cute kid comment for you (well for everyone). So yesterday, DD (Age 5) says to Maroo about her Southern accent - "Miss Mary you've been here for two days so why are you still talking Mississippi?" :rotfl:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Thank you for sharing that, it puts a smile on my face this morning! :thumbsup2

I like to hear, "Yes, ma'am!".

I just had a Forrest Gump moment.

"YES, DRILL SARGEANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

So glad you like that middle shirt!! ;) Waiting for pix, by the way!

Yeah, I knew I had messed that word up! Homonyms can be killer sometimes! I especially like immigrate and emigrate!

I know - I need to download pics and compare with Maroo. We were taking pics with both cameras so I have no idea who has what shots and who has better photos. I also realized that I should have taken more photos.

Homonyms are killers! The one that people seem to use incorrectly most often that drives me the craziest are effect and affect.

I've never written a PTR or TR so I am just not sure that it would be interesting enough for anyone to read. Though I do think I may give it a whirl and start one this week.

NOWAY! Your comments make me laugh hysterically!

I can attest that Maroo does indeed eat vegetables! Well, I can attest to the fact that Maroo voluntarily but a scoop of vegetable medley on her plate. I was too busy eating since lunch wasn't until 1:30pm to notice if she actually ate them but I am pretty sure she did.

This drives me nuts, too! I'm starting to think I need to hang out with you people more often.

:rotfl2:

I just had a Forrest Gump moment.

"YES, DRILL SARGEANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I'm thinking so too! You should PM me.... a year away is plenty enough time to plan a bigger ladies' gettaway. (I'm not kidding!)

It wouldn't take much for us to take a hint on a Dole Whip... like maybe walking by Aloha Isle? :confused3

I know - I need to download pics and compare with Maroo. We were taking pics with both cameras so I have no idea who has what shots and who has better photos. I also realized that I should have taken more photos.

Yes, yes, and amen to "affect" and "effect"!!!! Verb vs. noun .... :confused3
Not hard.

I'm sure we'd all be very interested in your plans. Go for it, girl!

I want proof!! maroo, did you eat them??
