Well I'm back from my 3day mini vacation and I think I'm all caught up.

On our trip, I issued a Biscuit decree that entering The Land Pavilion counted as 1 veggie credit, riding Living the Land counted as 4, and riding Soarin counted as a fruit/citrus/vitamin C credit. Also vegetable credits were issued for adding lettuce and or pickles to a hamburger (double points for adding both), and garnishes all counted as credits as the meat they sat on sucked all the vitamins out of them. (Everyone knows meat does that.)

As to flatulence and humor, well, what can I say? Nothing cracks me up like a well executed pongu. I have a particularly explosive story on the subject from our last day in the parks. I also like to say things when I belch. Is that TMI?

ANYWHO, hope all is going well in Blankastan. Given the lively banter on the PTR, I can’t WAIT to hear the wile and Zany tales that make it into the TR!

BTW – just how much are you charging to omit embarrassing incidents?

The first two snacks have looked a little too healthy - they both have fruit. I was going to suggest a dole whip but that has fruit too. Maroo - is it you that doesn't like Dole Whips? Oohh - here's a snack with no known nutritional value - zerba domes.

I just have to chime in that gazpacho is a soup (not a veggie drink like V8) and is not as bad as it looks. Maroo I would think it would count as at least two veggies and is probably very low in points. I am guessing you still won't be coming within 10 feet of it though.

I am definitely guilty of many of the views of this thread. I click on it every time there are a few posts so usually at least once a day and sometimes more if you guys are being chatty.

Okay. . .enough of my stream of conciousness ramblings for today. I've got work piling up on my desk.

Zebra domes! I have heard of those and never had one. But I bet a get a chance in 09, actually...since I am having dinner at Boma? Isn't that where you get them?

you know what...if someone will make me that veggie stuff...I will try it.

There. I said it.

Jen - you crack me up! Thank you for coming out of lurkdome. And get your work done so you can go home. :lmao: The DIS made me stay late today, too. My poor boss thought I was working "extra"... (Don't worry, he was not paying me extra!)

ROCK ON! That is what I am talking about! Soarin = fruit!

Unfortunately...I also....don't like... condiments. No ketchup. Mustard. Mayo. I know. Sad.

A fee for omitting embarrassing incidents?? Hmm.

You know, our Constitution covered pictures...it said nothing about the actual reporting of incidents on the trip.

We may need another amendment! :scratchin

I think it would really behoove us to put a disclaimer on this thread.

"Do not read the delightfully witty banter between Liesa, Maroo, and all their friends at 6:45am whilst your happy little family is attempting to sleep. Results could be unsavory."

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am loving the whole what does and does not count as a fruit convo.

I'm so going to be compiling a list when I get out of work today. Now keep in mind, when we had a big open house at my branch (bank teller by day, artist by night) I was the one coercing people into eating cake for breakfast.

What? It had eggs, flour, milk. And chocolate. I mean come on. Chocolate has flavonoids. Those are good for you! ;)

Love your analysis of all the fruit and veggies you can rack up at the land!

Ooohhh - a fee to omit embarrassing incidents - interesting! Maybe the loyal readers of this PTR would be willing to pay a slightly higher fee to keep and embellish all embarrassing incidents.

Maroo - you are in luck! You can get Zebra Domes at Boma but also at the Mara so since you are staying at AKL you will get tons of chances to try them.

Did you just say you would try the veggie stuff??!!?? Liesa - ship some gazpacho to Mary ASAP!

What a good employee you are - none of the work I avoided had to be done so I saved it for Monday!

I look forward to reading your list later! Cake is totally a breakfast and nutritious too! It has protein, calcium, vitamin D and most importantly chocolate which when eaten at breakfast can fight off the symptoms of PMS!

Hiya All!

Well, to continue on with our tour of "most likely to be consumend and enjoyed by Corporal #1 on our TC3 Extravaganza", let's add this tasty little number. This happens to be at the very top of the desserts that I dream about with mouth watering, Pavlov's dogs-like consistency.

Norwegian rice cream is the dreamiest, lightest, super yummiest dessert- and I can't wait to devour a large dish of it in the Norway Pavillion next year. I think the risk of a full-on gall bladder attack far outweighs not getting some, don't you think??!!
(It's the one in the middle)

In case you're up for making some- here you go:

I'll make you a V8 popsicle and you can enjoy it while soaking. MMMmmmm! ;)

Now this actually sounds good in a weird sort of way, :goodvibes but I would think twice about letting Maroo near a hot tub. At least one you want to get in. She seems to have the uncanny ability to get them closed down.:confused3

I agree with you 100%!:thumbsup2 I bring cake for breakfast for everyone at work at least once a month. It contains four of the basic food groups.

Alright, Liesa, I had every intent of getting on that list this afternoon, but the weather gods blessed us and my son and I went swimming at my nana's. A good time was had by all! I'll try to get on that tomorrow, I promise. :goodvibes

No!!!!!!! Well, now, wait...what sort of fee would you like to pay? We take Pay Pal.

Just kidding! (of course)

We will be at AKL for at least 5 days...so surely I can find some time to have some Zebra domes! :)

I double dare Liesa to ship some gazpacho from Blankastan to the US! Go for it! Just warn my poor mail man. I like him and would not want any harm to befall him.

I have plenty of work to do Monday, too. :)

I look forward to reading your list later! Cake is totally a breakfast and nutritious too! It has protein, calcium, vitamin D and most importantly chocolate which when eaten at breakfast can fight off the symptoms of PMS!

And ice cream.... totally... Milk, calcium, vitamins, colorful..... Ice Cream is totally ok for breakfast! Or dinner!

I think we should warn the poor people at the resorts!!!

Just caught up on your thread and now I am starving. Look out kitchen here I come.

ha ha!! :) I hope you still have enough groceries to feed anyone else in your house!

Alright, Liesa, I had every intent of getting on that list this afternoon, but the weather gods blessed us and my son and I went swimming at my nana's. A good time was had by all! I'll try to get on that tomorrow, I promise. :goodvibes

Yeah, yeah, yeah...that is what they ALL say!

Oh, for pete's sake, I got popcorned and it's not even my thread! :rotfl2:

Getting popcorned on a thread that's not yours has got to be a first! (Still waiting on that list - :rolleyes1)

These desserts/snacks are just a little too healthy/light to be drool-worthy for me. I think you ladies need to come to PA - funnel cake, whoopie pies, homemade fudge, any baked good made by Amish/PA Dutch ladies. Hold on - let me wipe the drool from my keyboard.

OMG!! Speaking of funnel cakes, no lie!, those were next!! But I have to wait until Monday, when I can make them. So hold on--- coming up, funnel cakes!

Oooo, funnel cakes! You know how to make them at home? I'm intrigued.

UM....I AM coming to PA. Do I get to try out any of these goodies?? :rolleyes1

Poor TK. :sad2:

Having said that. popcorn::

Amen! :) Yum! :yay:

But they would require some serious...cropping (thank you very much TK!)...before they would see the light of the DISboards. But maybe later. Maybe.

I think the real question is how much can we extort to have things like this on our TR? Not how much we can charge to have things taken out. maroo, stuff like this could pay for our whole trip!!!! :lmao:

The first two snacks have looked a little too healthy - they both have fruit. I was going to suggest a dole whip but that has fruit too. Maroo - is it you that doesn't like Dole Whips? Oohh - here's a snack with no known nutritional value - zerba domes.

Hey Jen,

Yes, word has it that maroo does NOT like Dole Whips. Yes, I am still trying to figure THAT out!! :confused3 They are so yummy, and they will be here on my MUST HAVE snack list. You'll have to suffice with others' pix.

Gazpacho is tasty, but I doubt maroo will eat it. I'll save it for me. :cloud9: but maybe if we put whip cream on it??? :confused3

Click away, my friend! I hope we haven't tainted your mind too much with our crazy and ever so silly, (and slightly off-color, I might add) banter.

Like I said, I think it can go both ways, $$ to have stuff omitted, AND $$ to have stuff POSTED! Hmmm... just think of the possibilities! :rotfl2:

As to your veggie counting system. I think TK, maroo, and Jen could all go for it. I'm sticking with my gazpacho, baby! Pongus for all!

you know what...if someone will make me that veggie stuff...I will try it.

There. I said it.

I will make it for you someday. And since you said it...

No ketchup, mustard, mayo- I love ya, but okay, that's just weird. I adore when Johny Depp says that in Charlie (one of my fav. movies, by the way)

As to reporting... that's a whole 'nother ball of wax. Since we are Soldiers fo the utmost integrity, we should report fully and truthfully---- right?? ;) Hot tub incidents included.

By the way, we be needin' to talk about this. You've been hidin' hot tub dirt. Who remembers that movie (was it Caddy Shack) with the floating doody (aka Payday Bar)?? Oh wouldn't it be rich??

I think it would really behoove us to put a disclaimer on this thread.

Gazpacho comin' right over! Look out Mary!

Yes, that's what I'm talking about! You guys pay US, WE'LL pay for our trip, Then we MIGHT put some ummm.. items of interest up next Sept. My father always told me to be careful what you ask for! You could get serious amounts of arm flab (which you're likely to get ayway :rotfl2:)

Okay, I promised I would show you "Snack of Choice #4" today. I am doing this one now, so you all don't think I'm some sort of over-the-top health food freak who can't have fun! It is so not true! I love an artery clogging, heart stopping, flab producing concoction just as much as any red-blooded American. So, I give you-------------Funnel Cakes!

First get about 3 cups of vegetable oil heating in a heavy pot on the stove over a medium high flame.

Then, in a mixing bowl, mix up the following batter.

4 cups flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 cups milk
3 large eggs
Confectioners' sugar, for dusting

I cut the recipe in half. Half makes 4 pretty big funnel cakes- enough to feed the kids and I an afternoon snack. It should be like fairly runny pancake batter like this:

To make it a relatively easy, mess free job, pour the batter into a ziplock bag.

Then, with a pair of scissors, cut a pretty small hole in the corner of the bag at the bottom.

From the bag, squeeze the batter into hot cooking oil The oil needs to be very hot, test it by dropping ONE drop of water into it. If it pops and immediately spatters, your oil is ready. If your oil is not hot enough, your funnel cakes will be greasy!

Fry in the oil for about 45 secs. to 1 minute, or until the cake looks brown on one side, like this:

With metal spatula, flip in in one big piece to the other side and fry for a minute more (or less if it's browning quickly). After you remove it to a plate, sprinkle it liberally with powdered sugar.

We also like it with apricot jam drizzled over it. That's fruit, right??

Enjoy!!
