I have a prayer request...
We are expecting bad weather...and up until this morning, we thought it would be mostly snow. But the forecast has changed some and they are now pretty sure it will be ICE.

This will be followed by extremely cold temperatures...down to the lower TEENS at night.....

Prayers headed your way, Maroo. I lived in the south for 4 years and I remember what havoc those winter ice storms can bring. Stay warm! Oh wait, you'll be in Disney. Well, its actually been pretty cold there lately too!

You know Camille..I think it's the parents that never feel like drill sergeants that have the problems. As long as you're not drill sergeant 100% of the time..which I know you're not when you have your daughter aiding and abetting your Mickey head heist.. I think you're good! My mom was always 100% sergeant, and I really rebelled once I got a taste of freedom...I'm lucky though, in that it helps me be a better parent

Thank you so much for the prayers! I am really hoping it stays just a few degrees warmer here and we don't have many problems...They really can bring havoc! Nothing like some freezing rain to ruin your week. I was noticing all of the trees hanging over the power lines...

I did insultate all of my outside pipes and have 2 different neighbors checking on my condo.

IF we lose power around the city, my place will be one of the first to come back up (we have a large gas thing right by my house that is used to generate the electricity for a bunch of people...so we get turned on fast!) and I may have a bunch of people in my condo when I get home. I had 11 stay in my place in the days following Katrina.

Really wanted to be here more today, but power was off when I woke up at 10:00 (Don't ya LOVE vacation?!!) and didn't come on until 7:30.

They are so cute together!! This evening Laura's mom taught us a few swing dance moves and I got some really awesome video of my son and Laura DANCING!!!!! Do you think he'd EVER dance with ANYONE else- ever??!! I guess it takes first girlfriend sorts of measure to get some kids to do stuff like that! Whatever....


Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day power-wise.

I DO have power, and check this out... It's sunny (hasn't been for weeks), my water is great, and DH even installed a new water faucet in the kitchen that rocks.

Here's the down side, Tim. (I don't know how many people will catch this, so I'll do a huge long post next week) My DH just wrote to offer to buy my in-law house in Salem, and he wants to move back by the States by the end of August (think OMGosh, that's when the TC3 trip is supposed to BE!!!!).

Officially freaking out now!

No, no, no, Salem, Oregon.

Here's the clincher. I looked up the school district calendar and it starts the week of our trip. I really doubt Mike would let me take off the week I"d need to get Zachy in school.
