I know your DGD is at school in Gainsville as is my nephew, just wondering how long it will take him to drive to WL on the 15th. (SAT.) He will come I-75 to Fla turnpike to hwy27 to 192. Unless you know a better way??

Ok..really need WL Vets input here..This will help me decide about the rental car obsessing on.

Honestly, how are the buses at WL. I know I have to boat to MK, so thats a good thing.

If I have PS at Boma, AKL. is it a trip around the horn? OR,,is a cab alot of money?

I have never in my life been so uncertain. I tried the other car rental sites, but its all the same expense after taxes and I HAVE to add liability ins,( I dont own a car, and credit cards cover collision) which is anywhere from $10.99 to $12.99 a day X 7 days. So I have a $85/wk rental that comes to nearly $250 w/tax, ins. If I had alot of money, I wouldnt care.

So opinion on trans is very appreciated. Sorry for sounding so silly.

She does not start until next year. I am thinkng 3 hours and that is a good route. Tell him there is a Holiday Inn/ Angels on his right as he gets close to WDW, to follow the MK signs right after that.

Can't help on the car or cost of a cab, but DTD and AK are the longest rides from WL. I am sure there are some VETS have used a cab in the past.

For the most part the buses are very good and we had some very good experiences with them and the drivers. The problem is there is no resort to resort routes. You will have to go to AK and then to AKL.

Starz723 plus you didn't say but if your PS for Boma is dinner what time? AK closes early and then that might not be an option to even go to AK then AKL..You might have to go to DTD and then get the bus to AKL. Then back to DTD after dinner then Bus to WL.

As for the rental car question-we always rent a car, we do like the convenience of going where we want when we want.
The only pain is when it comes to the theme park parking lots. Unless you get a spot up front (with the exception of MK) you have to take a tram and/or monorail. We found it much more convenient to take the boat to MK. You cut out the monorail and tram hassle.

FloridaCat Thanks for the infor about visit guest. I talked with my friend and decided that he is going to leave the car with us and we will pick him up at his hotel. So for the first two days, we will have a car.

We were 5026. Although it was September and not so busy as to have much hall traffic. What got to me was the ice maker which is located right next to the elevator. It was broken but had no sign on it to tell you that, and you could hear the constant grinding every time someone when to get ice.

Starz723 - I say go for the car. We always get one, might not use it but I like the convenience of being able to use it if I need it.

Maybe we're just good sleepers, but being near the elevator and icemaker we were never really bothered by the noise.

Its been a week since i have been home. I spent a few days catching up on some house stuff to find a new thread exists. Had to come though because thinking about doing another trip to the WL during the winter. DD would love to be their for her birthday. Dh said maybe we could. How many trips do you need to become a WL vet?
