People during this period taking the backlot tour are likely to get a peek at the new show. When we were there on Jan 2, we could see the arena and a practice area and watch the stunts. We saw quite a bit. They were practicing S-Turns and J-Turns (look it up on a stunt or Hollywood site :) ) and there were lots of small ramps for riding up and down and doing jumps. The practice area looked sort of like a skateboard park.

You can see the new stage with all the seats and the backdrops. They are using some of the lot fenced off to create a track for the cars to work on synchronized driving. One stunt looked like one car going backwards and another forwards going around a loop as fast as they could with their bumpers almost touching.

The cars are small, almost like Cooper Minis, but I forgot to pay attention to the make. They were all painted flat black, but I imagine that was because they were junkers or because they want to hide the logos and whatever else they are doing. Knowing the "New Disney", I wouldn't be surprised if we have yet another advertising barrage to make us to put up with. The cars will probably be plastered with advertisements from sponsors just like a NACAR vehicle and, of course, you will probably be able to by exact miniature replicas in the gift shop you will be forced to have to exit through.

Anyway, it looks like it will be fun and a nice addition to the "live" entertainment along the lines of Indiana Jones. I'm glad they aren't cars on tracks with Audioanimatronic drivers. :)

I saw "Moteurs, Action!" at Disneyland Paris and it was really good. They didn't have the cars plastered with ads, they were plain black cars and one red car. Very entertaining and the show has some funny surprises as well.

DH is so excited about this show. I, too, am glad there's another new attraction joining MGM as lately our days there are only 3/4 days.

I was also there on 1/2, didn't see anyone practicing, but did see the practice area. Also was quite impressed with the arena where the actual show will be performed. Looked like it will hold close to 1000 people for each performance, give or take 100 or so. :teleport:

It might have been the morning of the 4th they were doing most of the practicing. It went on for much of the day. Thanks for the name of the car. I don't remember hearing that name before. Heard of Cooper Mini's, but not this one. I'll have to look it up!

We saw the show at DLP last March...I admit that I dozed off for a while during it. It was okay, but there's a lot of talking time while they get ready for each stunt. I'm hoping we can skip it and benefit from shorter lines while the show is going on.
