Lights, Christmas tree's and FAKE snow nowhere else but Disney! New 1.22!

Great update. That is really cool you got to see the shuttle launch! Oh, and we finally made it into Goofy's this trip!

Day 3- November 15

The wake up call came bright n' early and I was ready for another day of Disney fun! Today was the first day of super soap weekend and I was going to score some pictures for my mom. She's watched General Hospital since she was pregnant with me so I figured she would get a kick out Super Soap Weekend (SSW).

When I got to Hollywood Studios there was a huge line streching from the right side of the entrance gates all the way back to the boat dock path. I almost turned around right there but I noticed there were shorter lines just past bag check. Turns out that the wicked long line was for fastpasses to meet the soap stars. Some of those people have been in line since 4 am! I made it through the gates and was handed an Official SSW guide.

My first order of buisness was to go and ride Toy story mania since I had missed it in May. There wasn't any line since the park had just opened so I just walked in!
I loved the queue area. I almost wished there had been a little bit of a line so I could look around and enjoy it a little more.

Now I LOVED this ride! So simple but so fun. As you end your midway games it tally's your score and as you head back to the loading area there is a big score board of the top scores of the day.

As I exited the building the CM infront of the fastpass entrance was asking a bunch of us if we wanted to ride again. Of course I did so he let us all use the FP entrance skipping the 25 minute wait that had now formed.

After I rode for a second time I decided to head up to Mickey's hat to the SSW stage. There was going to be a Q&A session with The cast of General Hospital. Perfect place to get some pics for mom! There was about a 45 minute wait for the show and it was so funny listening to some of the women. This was like a Jonas Brothers concert for these older women. They all came dressed up in SSW tee shirts and would scream anytime they would show a new clip of their favorite star on the jumbotron. A lot of them also had "I love so and so" written all over their faces...and mind you the majority of these women were 40+. It was just a funny sight to see.

At 10:45 the host started to announce that the stars would be making their way down the street in their motorcades. At this point the crowd started screaming and if you looked over to the side you could see all the boyfriends and husbands who were dragged to SSW. haha

After I saw the the stars come down I could see why they were screaming. Those guys were cute! haha.

At this point the stars had made it up on stage for the Q&A session. And here is a picture to give you an idea of the crowd size. It was packed!

The Q&A session lasted about 20 minutes and it was cool to see. I've seen bits and pieces of GH over the years and I got tons of pictures for my mom! Once the session was over the cast made their way down the street just as they had come. In their cars with Mickey and friends. And I was off to find another adventure...

I'm happy you had a good Christmas. It was busy as usual, what with my huge family and all.

I love that you took the boat just to see where it went! What a great way to spend a day at Disney, just relaxing and doing what you want. Maybe one day when I get to go more often, I'll be able to do that!

Can't wait to see the shuttle video.

Glad you had a good Christmas!!!

I need to have more of those relaxing Disney days. It's really fun to have no set destination.

Hey girl! Hope you had a good Christmas and enjoyed some time off!!

Great TR so far, I love reading people's reactions to all the decorations for the first time. yay! How cool that you got to see the shuttle launch! One time back in middle school we were at Disney when one was coming back, and we drove over to Port Canaveral for the day but it wasn't a big deal, it kinda just looked like an airplane in the sky. still a neat experience though, that's awesome you got to see something like that, from Disney!

Can't wait to read more!

Hey girl! I loved the decorations. I just wish I was able to see more of them. The tree wasnt set up at Pop and I missed out on the Osborne lights. But that gives me a reason to go back!! ;)

That is really neat that you got to see the shuttle launch. I still have never been into Goofy's Candy Co. but want to so badly. That was on my list to do when I went in Oct. but we ran out of time and I was bummed...oh well I guess it will be there waiting for me.

Goofy's is good, you gotta check it out sometime!!!

It was a neat experience. I guess from what the Orlando news station said it will be the last night time launch for quite a while. :confused3

Great shots of SSW! I think I knew most of the characters! :happytv: I've been watching GH on and off since I was 5, when my older sisters, almost teenagers, started watching it. And yes, those guys are good looking! :lovestruc

Great trip report, Cheryl!! I get so excited when I see that you've added more on. :goodvibes I did a little shopping for cameras today. I think the Nikon S210 has replaced the one you have - that's all I could find, and it was sold out!! Some cameras are so expensive! I leave for my cruise next Saturday - nothing like waiting till the last minute. I feel like I should splurge on one, though. I almost feel guilty enjoying other people's trip reports because I never do any. Too funny about the screaming 40+ women! I think I work with a bunch of them - they take over the TV in the break room and get so involved in these shows. I shouldn't talk - if there was some kind of Disney soap, I'd be hooked

I was suprised at how big SSW really is. The crowds were huge. I'm shocked Disney isn't going to host the event next year. One woman said she had been watching (I believe it was Day's of our Lives or One life to live) since the 60's! :scared1:

Yea I'm pretty sure the S210 replaced it. That's a bummer it was sold out. Did you end up getting a different one? Ohhh and what is this about a cruise? I don't think you ever told me about it...fill a girl in! :cutie: Where are you going, what cruise line? How exciting! Are you already to go (besides having a camera)? You know me I would of been packed for months! :lmao:

Cheryl, how cool you were there for SSW, I love the soaps, so that was really neat to see. Sounds like you had a blast on your trip. I really hope to get there at some point during the Christmas season.:goodvibes

Jen you will love the Christmas season. It was so beautiful. As much as I loved MNSSHP I think MVMCP is just that much better! There is just so much joy and magic in the air!

Awesome pictures of the soap stars! You're totally right.. those men are CUTE! I bet you definitely didn't have a problem watching them on stage ;)

Hey, where are you staying in May when you go down?

Haha no problem watching them thats for sure! ;)

I'm staying at Pop again. There are just so many advantages to Pop than the other values. Why are you coming down in May?!?! :goodvibes

Yeah, right now it's between the 2nd week in May or sometime in June. But I'm leaning towards May due to the lower crowd levels and better weather! Andddd...we'd be staying at Pop!

Oh how exciting! Last May had fantastic weater and the crowds were non existant till Memorial day weekend. Let me know if you decide to book!!!! Oh and don't forget the 4/3 deal! ;)

Great pictures from SWW. GH is my favorite Soap and the guys are cute! Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the day went.

After the Q&A session I started to get a headache but I wasn't going to let it ruin my vacation so I trecked on to the animation building. Some of the characters from Bolt were out for a meet and greet. So were Chip, Dale and Pluto!

I made my way to the animation class which I found during my last trip and I just had to do it again!

After the animation class I made my way up to where the SSW acton was and I made it in time to see some of the stars of All my Children.

After all the stars went by I checked out a few of the gift shops and when I came back out Susan Lucci was making her way down the street.

Ok so after this my headache was just awful and I was so bummed that it was effecting my trip. But when I get a really bad headache nothing helps it but sleep. Unfortunately at this point that was my only option. I was in no way in a good mood to be walking around the park with all the SSW events going on. So sadly I made my way back to Pop where I crashed onto my bed for a looooooong nap. :(

Hey Cheryl! I did end up buying a camera. The girls at work talked me into a Canon. I spent more than I had planned, because the Canon I wanted that was less expensive was sold out, too! Bad timing. My cruise is through Royal Caribbean, and it is a Western Caribbean. We will have two days at sea, and stops at Belize, Costa Maya, and Cozumel. I am going with my sister, who has been on many many cruises and loves them. This will be my first cruise, and is a dream come true. However, I just am not jazzed up at all, like I am for a Disney trip. Which is so crazy - I've been to Disney so many times, and I've never been on a cruise. You'd think I would be more excited than ever. I'm wondering if it's because I just don't know what to expect. I remember before I went to Disney for the first time, I bought the Unofficial Guide book and read it cover to cover - over and over. I think that really fueled the excitement. Now I have to pick up the latest edition whenever I am going back. Plus there is just so much on-line about Disney. I seem to want to look at Disney stuff now, even though I am leaving on this cruise in less than a week. I think I need a 12-step program :lmao:

great update and pics.

the parade looked nice.

I see the all my children stars a lot, they work 2 blocks from me

So after my long nap I still had my headache. I was hungry though so I decided to head over to Everything Pop for some dinner. As I sat and ate my dinner I was contemplating going back to the room and calling it a night or heading over to the Magic Kingdom to hang out on Main St. After a minute of thinking I decided that I wasn't going to let my headache ruin my night!

By the time I made it to the MK it was already dark.
ry%3D400

The first thing I wanted to do was head over to the hat shop and get myself a pair of Mickey ears!

ry%3D400

I never realized how many options there were! I decided on the classic black ears with my name on the back.

After getting my ears I decided to take a walk down Main St and look at all the window displays.

By the time I made it to the end of the street it was just about time for spectromagic. The good thing about being a solo traveler is it usually isnt hard finding a spot for parades last minute. I found a spot outside the ice cream parlor and almost like magic the music started to play. I just love the music of spectro, I even have it on my Ipod and it gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it!

For some reason those are the only pictures I took of spectro?

Anyway after the parade I grabbed a spot by one of the carts at the end of the st for the fireworks.

After Wishes I decided to call it a night and head back to Pop. My only thought was hoping that my headache would be gone because the next night was MVMCP!!!!
