Wednesday, May 24, 2006, My Birthdayeve
The night before I forgot to mention that we had put our breakfast order thingy on the door. We got a pot of coffee
and the big kahuna breakfast. Scrambled eggs with cheese, sausage, bacon, biscuts, ham, pancakes, I think that was it..
We set it up for the 6:30-7:00 time. Chad's idea, I don't know why, we didn't need to be up until 7. So I set a wake-up
call for 6:40...I didn't really think that breakfast would come before that.
I woke up at 5:50, it took a while to fall back to sleep, but I did finally. I didn't want to just turn the tv on, because I
figured there was no sense in waking Chad too early. I woke a little later to a banging on the door, I looked at the
clock, 6:30. They are on the ball. I pushed Chad and made up get up and get the door. It smelled sooo good. We ate out
on the balcony, and the sun was kinda peaking a little tiny bit through the thick clouds. It was so nice, sitting out on our balcony,
early in the morning...so quiet. The food was great and after we finished and got ready we called the boys. That took forever.
Both of us talking to all four of them, and my Mom. But we couldn't imagine starting our day without first calling them. Ethan asked
me, "Mommy, you coming home today?"
We left for the MK in plenty of time...took the monorail. Doesn't it feel so special when you can hop on the monorail from your resort?
I felt like I was rich...and famous. Maybe not so much as those really special people who stay at the Grand Floridian..but certainly more
so than those at the CR. heh. We arrived, disembarked, went through security, and a practically non-exsistent line at the turnstyles.
We grabbed up seats on the planter so we could wait and watch the opening. We people watched, and CROC watched. You could tell
who had older
CROCS, who had brand new CROCS, who probably had CROCS Butter, little kids, big kids, adults, old and young alike.
There are a lot of CROCS at WDW. We watched this one man who was unable to handle his little boy, who had CROCS on BTW. The
boy, not the father. The boy would pretty much walk around wherever he so desired, and the father followed him. Then the little boy would
do that drop to the ground while the father dragged him because he would walk thing. All the while coaxing and BEGGING the kid to stand
up. We had a good laugh...somehow we hand 4 of them, without anyhting like that ever happening and yet here this man is who can't handle
one. Makes us love our kids even more!
Finally the main street performers came out with some scary woman and started dancing and singing. Last time we were there for opening
they didn't come out, it was fun. I love starting my morning out with that! Next came the train with Mickey and friends and that lucky famliy
chosen for the opening.

1 .... and the mad dash begins. We didn't mad dash, we weren't in that big of a hurry...I had to make a potty stop before we could head
for Space. I love how in the mornings all the CM are out on main street waving their big mickey gloves at us. We headed down into TL
and laughed at all the people lined up outside the doors for Stitch...suckers. Then we came to a screeching halt. Why is the line for Space
all the way out into TL? We got FP and decided not to ride...I cursed TGM because he never said anything about the line being all the way
out into TL. Next we decided head to Adventure land, by the way of Fantasyland and riding Winnie the Pooh. I love that ride, it's so fun and
cute and reminds me of Ethan. He loves that ride too and mimics Pooh at the end when he's eating his honey. Next we enjoy a empty walk
into adventureland and come to another screeching halt, because Splash is down. Now I am totally getting disapointed...I didn't have a happy
face or attitude as we got into a 20 minute wait(wasn't really) for BTMR, at like 9:30am. Since I had a bad attitude Chad also got a bad attitude.
Instead of trying to cheer me up, he just gets mad at me for not being happy. It's just one of his faults, I have plenty...like being in a bad mood at
the MK. So we get up to the front of the line, and we get stuck near the front. You ever ridden in the front of BTMR? It sucks, big time. You are
pretty much at the bottom of every drop before the train releases and you actually start going fast. Which added to my sour mood and we pretty
much scowled and growled through the whole thing. After we got off, I said,"lets go again" the line was a little longer this time, but it gave us time
to talk. I said I was sorry, he said he was sorry, we hugged and kissed and this time Chad asked if we could be in the back. It was much more fun
but I think the middle is the best on that one. When we exited Splash was till down and we were 15 minutes away from being able to get another FP,
which was over 2 hours out, which means we would be pushed way back getting another FP. I devised a plan...I said,"Tom Sawyers Island is about
to open, we'll be on the first raft and we can look for the paintbrush so we can get a FP for splash without actually having to use our next FP window.
He was impressed I knew of such a thing as finding paintbrushes on Tom Sawyers Island. There were maybe a dozen or so other people on the raft,
we however were smart and hung out right by where we'd be getting off the raft. I was one of the first people off and I told Chad, you go that way and
I'll go this way, call me if you find it! I headed out towards the fort, alone. Seconds later my phone deep deeps...
Up next: Did we get a paint brush? Did we celebrate victory or pout in defeat? Did it start raining? Is Splash ever going to be working again?
Will another ride go down?
